1 Purpose
Purpose of this document is to describe the steps for preparation of 8 GB Sands MRI .

2 Scope
The scope of this document is to mention about Preparing Sands 8 GB MRI and copy to / from
operation from MRI.

5 MRI Preparation
The process of MRI preparation is very simple. Just select copy & paste the desired files in MRI
from PC. In this operation one utility called Lincom will execute at PC & USB cable is
connected between PC & MRI .Once they are connected the data can be transferred between
them.

5.1 Prerequisites
For programming the MRI with respective products like SMILE, following steps need to
perform (Here we are illustrating steps for Smile program, similar kind of steps to perform for
other programs like Dispupd, LibHHU etc).

a. Identify the latest released Smile program in release directory.

b. Copy “PROGRAM FILES” folder from “\\SANDS 1010 HS\PROGRAM FILES” to on local
drive.
c. Copy “For SANDS 1010 HS 8GB” folder on local drive
d. Now Follow the Instruction given in this document to transfer the data from PC to MRI.
e. At PC Lincom utility must be there. This utility is provided in the CD with every MRI pack
(Or copy setup from release directory – “\\SANDS 1010 HS\Lincom SANDS 1010 HS
8GB”). Copy Lincom setup on local drive & install the same on PC.

 f. Connect MRI with PC by USB cable and for communication between PC & MRI, USB
driver must be installed on PC, please install the same as per attached document

If driver is already installed, no need to install it again.

5.2 Time set of MRI

Follows below steps to perform time set in MRI

1. Run the Lincom.exe at PC.

2. Connect MRI USB Port to PC USB port via provided cable
3. Press “SERIAL NUM” button to get actual MRI serial number to verify connectivity

4) Click on “SET-VIEW DATE/TIME” button, we will get new screen

5) It will show current date & time of MRI

6) Select “Set Date Time” option & enter the current system date & time to be set in MRI
7) Click on set button

8) Press OK button

9) Press OK button
10) MRI restarts & will get Date-Time successfully send message on Lincom GUI.
11) After MRI restart again press on “SET-VIEW DATE/TIME” button to ensure proper ate & time in
MRI.

12) Press cancel if proper date time reflects without any time drift.

5.3 Prepare MRI

Preparing of MRI means transferring the desired program files to MRI.

Follows below steps to prepare MRI

1. Press “Esc” button, then Prepare “SEMS” Folder in MRI in B: drive. To create the
specified folder write command “MD SEMS”. as shown below

 2. Run the Lincom.exe at PC.

3. Connect MRI USB Port to PC USB port via provided cable.

4. Click on “Serial No.” Button to get MRI Serial number.

5. Click on export button and select the both files from ‘For SANDS 1010 HS 8GB’
folder and copy to B:\ drive. As shown below

 6. Click on export button and select the path of PC where program files are available.
Select all files and Click on open button in “B:\SEMS\”.

Click on “Ok” button.

Now restart the MRI:

Following two options will be available

1. Secure (DLMS / NON- DLMS) - To read secure make meters.

2. Tools - To get MRI serial no & to check battery & memory status of MRI

Now Press key 1 and Enter. This will launch the SMILE on MRI. Following screen will
Occur in front of you.

 How to come back on Home Screen of MRI

Use “SH” command on MRI b:\drive.

Procedure to configure of MRI Menu –

Open the “mrimenu.mnu” in notepad++ or TextPad. Below screen will get Appear.

Write below Command Line in “mrinemu.mnu” file and Load into MRI “B:\drive”. And Now power OFF
and ON MRI.

Note:-
1. For functional test refer RTP302-115
2. This model of Sands MRI does not support LPR reading
