Some people believe that it is ok to put the needs of humans over

environmental concerns. While others feel that protecting the environment
should be prioritized. Discuss both views and what is your opinion?

ANSWER

There has been an ongoing debate about which is more pressing between the needs
of humans and environmental protection. There are valid arguments on both views,
which will be discussed below.

On the one hand, it is true that prioritizing human needs over environmental
concerns is acceptable. First, they are not willing to abandon the convenience and
efficiency brought by some of the high-end products, even though the widespread
use of them can have detrimental effects on the environment. For example, the
excessive use of private cars in first-tier cities has led to an increase in the amount
of carbon dioxide and other fumes emitted into the atmosphere but they still choose
to buy brand-new cars to drive to work or travel around. Second, so as to deal with
environmental issues, individuals believe that this is a duty of governments and
international bodies. Indeed, when people are exposed to news about global
warming, the greenhouse effect, they think just authorities can allocate a huge
budget to finding non-conventional resources, redressing the ecological balance.

On the other hand, there are several reasons why environment's protection should
take precedence. To begin with, environmental protection encourages better
physical health. The quality of air found in the forest can help to improve lung
health and there are many recreational activities to be found there as well. For
instance, taking a walk through the forest enhances physical endurance. In
addition, maintaining the environment is critical in providing food for people.
Around the world, many people depend on forest food to live. Furthermore, many
animals need the environment for survival. As the environment is degrading, most
of the animal species face extinction.

In conclusion, although human needs may be important issues, I hold a strong

belief that environmental protection is essential.
