Subject: Recollect Augustinian Youth Questionnaire

Contributions to the 58th OAR General Chapter, Rome 2022

Purpose: The purpose of this questionnaire is to have a wider collaboration from all the local
chapters not just in the Philippines, but all the RAY/JAR chapters abroad.

Instructions:
• Consolidated answers are coming from your Local Officers, RAY members together with
your Spiritual Director/ Friar-in-charge in your local community.
• 1 Questionnaire=1 Local Community
• There are already guide answers which can be identified in bullet form. This can be
used as a BASIS and PATTERN to come up with your OWN answer.
• Deadline/Submission will be on September 15, 2021, no extensions given.

Sample Questions with Guide Answers

1. What do you expect from the General Chapter in relation to the Augustinian
Recollect Youth?
• That the General Chapter design the statutes for the RAY, especially on the stages
of the latter's formation, that would be open for adaptation in view of the underlying
local cultures of the youth in places where the Order exercises this ministry. This
would enable each of the provinces to craft formation programs that properly suit
these cultures while maintaining or remaining faithful to the primary objective of the
Order's program for the RAY.
• The possibility of opening a general (international) council for the RAY.
• Establish international coordination among the RAY Spiritual Directors.
• Link all the RAY web pages of the different provinces.

2. What are the main challenges, from your point of view, of the Augustinian
Recollect Youth?
• Lack of standardized formation program that result to varying programs given to the
youth.
• The varying manners that the spiritual directors deal with the RAY entrusted to them.

3. What concrete actions should be taken from the beginning of the next six-year
period?
• Implement and strengthen the formation of RAY Lay Collaborators to assist the
Spiritual Directors in accompanying the youth.
