Grading:
The school year which is
divided into two (2) semesters must conform to the school calendars as practicable. Cadets shall be given a final grade for every semester, such grade to be computed based on the following weights: 1. Written Work - - - 30 points 2. Performance Task - - - 30 points 3. 1. Written Work (Weekly
Quizzes/activities )
this will serve as the
attendance and to be submitted online in instructors email add/ designated drop box every Training Day - Fifteen (15) Consecutive Training Days - Student must meet at least 80% of total Training Days (12 Training Days) - Three (3) absences – Warning - Four (4) absences – Dropped - Parents of students who met three (3) absences will be informed accordingly. - Excuse letters/medical certificates must be presented on the next training day. - Excuse letters/medical certificates presented after the next training day will no longer be accepted. - Athletes/Scholars of the school must be coursed through to DNST office for appropriate action. - All students must ensure to comply with the weekly quizzes/activities that serve as the attendance every training day. Performance Task (Video Clip
Performance) is a 3 minutes video clip on a given topic and to be submitted online. This will be graded by a. 30% creativity- how they convey their idea, message or through in a original and imaginative way through their lens narrative and performance. b. 20% Style – how they showcase their personal originality and technique to influence how the video is presented and interpreted. c. 50% Subject Matter – how was the subject addressed in the narrative, performance of the video clip. Task Assessment (Major Examination) There will be two(2) written major examinations including Midterm and Final Exam, to evaluate the students progress in the course. The Test questions will be sent via Google Classroom and/or FB Messenger on the scheduled date of examination. The scope of the examination will include but not limited, to those topics presented. Exam will commence and end on the scheduled time. Late examiners will not be given any consideration unless with valid reason. Major Examination (40%) (Midterm and Final Exam)
• Students must obtain the passing grade of 75% of each
scheduled examination. • Students who obtain grades lower than 75% of the scheduled exam, the student will be given a REMEDIAL EXAM, with the grade of 75% as the highest attainable grade. • Students who failed to take the examination during the scheduled date can be given a special exam provided he/she has valid reason. If it is health reason, he/she should provide the faculty with the medical certificate signed by the attending Physician. Other reasons shall be assessed first by the faculty to determine its validity. - Every student is allotted One Hundred (100)
merits. - Each incurred demerits will be deducted from the allotted merits - Examples: Unshaved, improper haircut/long fingernails/neatness/completeness of uniform/tardiness etc. Note: • Verification of grades/complains will be entertained on the 14th Training Day. • After the aforementioned duration, verification of grades/complains will no longer be entertained. • Always verify the Naval Spartan for any announcements or disseminations. • Students who are members of religious sects that in conflict with military customs and traditions but willing to be part of NROTC will be given special duties with respect to their religious belief provided that certification signed by their religious leader must be presented.
