(Sydney Conservatorium of Music)

The Sydney Conservatorium of Music offers


nine undergraduate degree and diploma
programs, designed to current high international
standards, enabling students to freely move in
the international music world.
Performance development is integral, with
all instrumental and vocal students receiving
28 individual lessons in the first year of their
undergraduate degree.
The Conservatorium boasts several ensembles:
symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, early
music ensemble, modern music ensemble,
chamber choir and large choir. Further ensemble
opportunities exist through an extensive
chamber music program.
Ensembles tour the world – examples include
the 2009 Chamber Orchestra European Tour
and 2009 Percussion Ensemble Asian Tour.
2010 sees performances at the Shanghai World
Expo, in Germany and a USA tour including a
combined performance with the Juilliard School.
Music education students undertake extended
Practice Teaching placement in schools from
2nd year, providing opportunities for classroom
music experiences in both primary and
our faculty
