B. HOW TO GET INTO THE EVENT

MANAGEMENT BUSINESS
 Since many people who
want to become an event
manager obtain a degree in
business management, tourism
management or hospitality
management, it is again an
advantage that one is a member
of the tourism and hospitality
management program since this
will expose him on event
planning, organizing, presenting
and evaluating.
 If you want to become an event manager, you will be
helping in planning and conducting memorable events using
many different skills. It is therefore very important that you
are patient, as many of the clients you plan events for will
change their minds several times about different event
details. If you are creative, then that’s good! That is
necessary because it helps you to innovatively satisfy all of
your clients’ event requests. Also you will find it helpful to
have an eye for detail, as well as to have superb leadership
and organizational skills.
 REQUIREMENTS OF AN EVENT MANAGEMENT

Enumerated below are the qualities that a potential event

management team member must possess:

★ articulate both in English and Filipino languages, and some other

foreign language is more desirable;
★ strong business foundation and customer service skills
★ well-organized
★ with excellent organizational skill
★ highly trainable
★ highly focused
