Engineers India Limited (EIL) is offering Scholarship to deserving SC &ST students pursuing
full time Undergraduate Engineering programme in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics,
Computer Science, Industrial, Chemical or Instrumentation disciplines.
The scheme provides scholarship of Rs.3000/-p.-. (Rupees Three thousand only) during the
first, second, third & fourth year of study, for the above course, subject to the conditions laid
down in the enclosed scheme for award of Engineers India Limited (EIL) scholarships for SC
&ST undergraduate engineering students.

B.Tech students admitted in 2020 are encouraged to apply for the EIL Scholarship. The
interested SC/ST students can fill in the application form latest by January-I0,202I. The filled in
application form can be submitted to the Scholarship & Fee3 section towards forwarding to EIL
along with the necessary documents in the prescribed format (enclosed at Annexure I & II) as
given under:

2. N4ark sheet 1Oth & 12th /DiplomainEng.

3. SC/ST Caste Certificate.

4. Income certificate issued by authorities given at Annex- 1.

The candidature of applicants wif h invalicl caste/income certificate and incomplete
applicafion shall be rejected summarily. Student joining B.E/B.Tech. in 2020 are only
eligible to apply.

Scheme for Award of Engineers India Limited (Eltl Scholarships

lor SC and ST Undergraduate Engineering Students
1. INTRODUCTION

Engineers India is a premier design and Engineering Consultancy Organizatlon with capabillty in design and
implementation of mega projects in yaried areas such as oil refineries, petrochemicals, chemicals, oil and
gas processing, fertilizers, power plants, non-ferrous metallurgical plants, of{shore platforms, cross counrry
pipelines, etc', with headquarters at New Delhi and a network of project sites and offices in various parts
of
India and abroad.

Engineers India Limited is committed to operate its core business in a socially responsible way. As a socially
responsible organization, EIL aims to assist socially and economically weaker segments of society to
overcome hardship and impoverishment. To fulfill this objective, Engineers India Limited.has devised the
Scholarship Scheme whereby financial assistance is offered to meritorious and deserving SC and ST stude nts.

z. OEJECTIVE

The objective of this scheme is to award Engineers India Limited (ElL) scholarships to meritorious and
deserving sC & ST students pursuing full-time undergraduate engineering course at the Institutes/colleges
which are duly recognized by AICIE andf or from University/Deemed University duly recognized by UGC.

3. VALUE & DURATTON OF EIt SCHOI.ARSHIPS

Value of each EIL scholarship will be Rs.3000/- per month. The duration of EIL scholarship shall be for the
period of the course. The scholarship shall be payable for all the 12 months in a year, cbmmencing from
the
1't year of the study based on the mark scored in Class Xll/Diploma in Engineering. The scheme shall be
continued during the 2n0,3'o and 4syears of study, based on mark ,.o.edin 1", 2fr anJ 3;ye., of study
respectively.

4. ELIGIBILITY FOR AWARD

A. ElLscholarshipsshall beawardedtomeritoriousanddeservingSC&STstudents{SC-10nos.& ST-5nos.)

pursuing full-time undergraduate engineering programmes in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Elecrronics,
Computer Science, tndustrial, Chemical or Instrumentation engineering disciplines. 7 nos. of the
scholarships (5C- 5 nos. & ST- 2 nos.) shall ..be reserved for girl students. However, in case of non
availabilfi of students in either category, students from other category may be considered.

B. Gross Annual income from all sources of the parents/guardian of the selected candidate shall
not exceed
Rs. 3,00,000/-.

c. A candidate in receipt of any other financial aid/ stipend from any other source whatsoever shall not
be
eligible for the EIL Scholarship.

D' selections shall be made on the basis of performance in Class Xll/Diploma in Engineering. Candidate
should have secured 55% or equivalent cGPA/CPI in aggregate in Class Xll/Diploma in Engineering, as per
details mentioned below:

Candidates in order of merit amongst SC & 5T students, duly recommended by the Head of the Institution,
shall be considered for award of FIL Scholar:ghip. Merely meeting the criteria of conditions of award of
scholarship shall not entitle a candidate for award ofscholarship'

E. Methodology to decide merit order of students in case of tie of marks in Class Xll/ Diploma in Engineering
is as given below:
(i) Students having lower parentslguardian annual income
(ii) Marks obtained in the preceding examination i.e. Class X
(iii) Older in age

F. The following documents would be required for award of scholarship:

(i) Duly completed Proforma at ANNEXURE - l-

{ii} Mark-sheet of the student, as a proof of successful completion of Class Xll/Diploma in Engineering
course.
(iii) Income certificate issued by the prescribed authority, showing total income of the parents/
guardlan per annum from all sources. List of prescribed authorities for issue of lncome Certificate is
mentioned in Annexure-l
(iv) Caste Certificate from prescribed Authority, in the prescribed format of the certificate. List of
prescribed authorities to issue SC/ST Certificate is mentioned in Annexure -ll.

coNT|Nt{A!!cE of AWARp:

Award of scholarship for 2nd year onwards shall be strictly subject to continuous satisfactory perforrnance
and good conduct.

The scholarship shall be reneWed every year frorn 2nd year till the completion of course. The .

renewal/continuation of scholarship will depend on the promotion to the next semester/session/year. lf

the student has failed in any paper/obtained less than aggregate 55% marks or equivalent CGPA/CPl of
Z.O/2.7/3.3/4.4/4.g/S.g on a scale of a/5/6/7/819/10 respectively for any semester/session/year due,
he/she will not be paid scholarship till he/ she clears all papers of such semester/ session with nbt less
than aggregate 55% marks or equivalent CGPAICPI.

For renewal of scholarship, the candidate will send a Progress Report, in the prescribed format, duly
recommended by the Head of the Institution within 30 days of announcement of the result of the
semester / session,/year. The format shall be forwarded to the concerned shortlisted candidates.

Candidates who fail to pass the semester or annual examination in prescribed duration of course or
indulge in any activity amounting to misconduct will be disqualified for further scholarship.
Recommendations in this regard to EIL from the Appropriate Authority of the Institute/College shall be
final.

6. coM MENCEM ENT OF lll E SCHOLARSHIP:

'This is an ongoing scheme and for each academic session, the scholarship shall be effective from start of
session.

7. MODE OF PAYMENT:

All payments on account of EIL scholarship shall be made through electronic transfer to the concerned'
candidates. ln this regard, shortlisted candidates shall be intimated to furnish requisite details.
