IIT Jammu invites applications from Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs),

who have a passion for teaching and research, for faculty positions at the level of Professor,
Associate Professor, Assistant Professor (Grade I & II) and Visiting Professor in the

The main disciplines of interest and the main focus-areas within each discipline are given below.
Recruitment is not limited to these areas only and candidates in other areas within these
disciplines are also encouraged to apply.

Chemistry

Candidate must have PhD in Chemistry, and at least 3 years of Postdoctoral experience, from a
reputed institution with a good research record and background. While all areas will be
considered, the following areas are currently of special interest:

Organic Chemistry: C-H Activation, Bio-organic and Medicinal Chemistry, Total Synthesis.
Inorganic Chemistry: Inorganic Synthesis, Physical-inorganic Chemistry, Molecular
Magnetism.
Physical Chemistry: Spectroscopy, Colloidal and Surface Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry
and Electrochemistry.
Catalysis: Heterogeneous Catalysis.

Civil Engineering

Candidates must have PhD in Civil Engineering, or an allied area, from a reputed institution, and
a good research record and background. While candidates from all areas will be considered, the

Structural Engineering: Underground Structures, Tunneling, Rock mechanics, Smart
Structures, Advanced Materials, Seismic Design of steel and reinforced concrete structures,

Candidates must have PhD in Computer Science, or in allied area, from a reputed institution,

The Institute aims to establish a broad-based HSS school where the inherent connections
between engineering and sciences, and HSS are exploited. Having done research in the area of
Technology and Society is highly desirable; however, candidates who may have worked in
related areas but have research plans to work on problems in this area are also welcome to
