Module I on PFA: Validating and Normalizing Feelings

My Dear Friend,
During the months of lockdown,
1. I learned how to play guitar.
2. I read books.
3. I wrote a song.
4. I learned foreign languages.
5. I learned how to play piano

I feel Blessed and Grateful because while I am studying at home, I also discovered
things a lot about myself that during the old normal days I haven't done.
I found out that I have skills that's needs to practice and have learned the things
that I thought were impossible for me to do.

The feelings that are written in the box are the stressful events that some students
are facing until now. Compared to my feelings written above, it sounds easy,
stress-free considering that I am “blessed'' and “grateful” but it’s not. Behind
those learnings, I've also encountered difficulties and pain. Hardships fear and it is
normal. Everyone is facing different battles every day and we need to overcome
them.
It is just a process for us to be able to grow, and learn. After that, you will be
grateful that you choose to fight and endure your battles, because of the joy that
you receive.
ANALYSIS
The common feelings to the usual routines of my everyday life are Joy, love, and
anxiety. Due to this pandemic, many students are adjusting to this new normal
learning system, some are stressed because of various problems such as slow
internet connection, no gadgets or phones to use, no place to study, poverty and
many are struggling to manage their time because of responsibilities in their
house at the same time their studies. Every student is facing these battles and all
we need to do is to help each other and persevere. Above all, we must not lose
hope and trust in our Lord who holds our future.

APPLICATION
This new learning helps me in understanding more that stressful events brought
by this Pandemic are normal and valid.
I have learned how to react and what steps should and shouldn't take when
terrible things happen.

I can apply this learning to my life by doing the things written in “When Terrible
Things Happen” that could help me to do the right things to worsen not the
situation, and on how to react when terrible things come.

CLOSURE
I’m happy and worry less knowing that I'm not the only one struggling with stress
because of the pandemic and knowing that these feelings are normal and valid.
Module II on PFA: Calming Down and Managing one's Emotions and
Thoughts.

ANALYSIS
I feel calmed. I Think It is better to catch our feelings so that we can manage them.
By checking our feelings we can identify the things or feelings that we need to
drag so we can change or replace our feelings with positivity.

We need to reframe our thoughts because it changes our priorities, the way we
think from bad thoughts to good, from worrying more to worrying less.

Reframing our thoughts helps us to manage our emotions, by replacing them with
Hope, Trust, and Gratefulness our life will be easier and calmer. As stated in
feelingblue.com it says that Sometimes we spend so much time thinking bad
thoughts that we begin to believe things that are not true, or we stress ourselves
out by focusing on the negative parts of our day. Reframing your thoughts might
be helpful- reframing will help you reduce stress and feel better.

BEFORE (my feelings during the AFTER (my feelings right now)
pandemic/disaster)

My feelings during the pandemic were My feelings right now are calmed
stressful,

I felt pain I’m Blessed

I felt difficulties I’m Grateful

I was scared I’m Confident

APPLICATION
I learned that the feelings that I CAUGHT could be pain, difficulties, stress, and
fear.

After a while, I CHECKED the feelings and realized that I could Reframe them,
knowing that these feelings may lead us to depression.
Reframing our thoughts can help us Reduce stress and feel better.

And so I CHANGED my feelings into the following:

Calmed, Blessed, Grateful and Confident.

I think my needs are things or gadgets to use in this new normal learning system.
Thankfully our school provided a laptop to use until the end of our class.

ANALYSIS
We need to learn to whom we can go for our own needs or the needs of our
family in such a way that when the calamities, disasters or we have current
immediate needs, we already know where we can refer our needs, and who can
we turn to when we need a rescue.

Probably they are having some difficulties with the teamwork and cooperation in
the team. Oftentimes, the lead member or leader is the only one who’s doing
things making it hard to achieve their desired output. The stories that I can recall
about how other groups were able to help me are cheering me up, giving me
some ideas, and contributing money to buy some materials. These are the main
things that help me through my journey in making the Given tasks.
Module IV on PFA- SOURCES OF STRENGTHS

My sources of strength are love, trust, being joyful, and being determined. Love
from family, friends, from the people that surround me, who lift and cheer me up.
Trust in myself and faith to the one who’s the source of our strength, our God.
Being joyful makes your life much better, even when a lot of problems come in
your way, even when it’s hard to find the reason why you need to persevere.
ANALYSIS
I realized that everything happens for a reason. Our pain, hardships and
difficulties have a purpose and I always choose to smile as stated in 1
Thessalonians 5:16-18 says Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all
circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. God will never give us
more than we can handle.
We must always find a reason why we need to fight, why we need to fly and soar
high because everything happens for a reason, it has a process, remember that
great things in life don’t come easy- they require us to start somewhere. And
often, it’s an ugly place.

ABSTRACTION
The kite and I are similar they’re beautiful,
It has the freedom to fly by the guidance of its owner
It is beautiful and captivating when you see it soaring high
It is made to be strong so that no matter how strong the wind is,
It can continue to fly and survive.
The four foundations of the kite stand as its strength
It keeps holding to these strengths and never let go
So that when the time comes when it’s flying low
It has the strength and foundation to hold on to.

APPLICATION
