Research Article:-
A Smart Mobile Robot to Detect Abnormalities in Hazardous Zones

Summary

I have read the research article about A Smart Mobile Robot to Detect Abnormalities in
Hazardous Zones and deduced from it that, Air quality is very important for the
environment. Air quality plays an important role in human life, Outdoor air is scarce due to
overpopulation, industrialization and transportation. In industrialization, indoor air is also
affected by VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions, LPG emissions and dust
particles in the air. Indoor polluted air is more dangerous for human beings than outdoor
polluted air.
So we should design a program that can provide protection to human health, in these places
where such toxic gases are emitted, that way we can save human life. To design this
program we will need a robot which we can call a mobile robot which will have a
microcontroller based detection and alarm system. Inside it VOC sensors, LPG sensors, dust
sensors, temperature sensors Will be present to monitor the environment so that we can be
safe. If he encounters any abnormalities, he should immediately send an alert message
through GSM module to authority. Through this, we can save any human life from being
harmed.
We will have an embedded system that can detect harmful gases. We will embed a system
that can detect harmful gases.
There has been a real-time system for monitoring air quality. Challenges of advanced
designing and implementation for indoor air quality monitoring are dealt. There is an
integrated system for monitoring indoor air quality dealt with the purpose of this system is
to detect the levels of seven gases, Ozone (O3), particle matter, carbon monoxide
(CO),Nitrogen oxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), fluctuations Organic compounds, and
carbon dioxide (CO2), provide real-time and timely air quality warnings.
Air impurity instability measurement system is an online pollution concentration monitoring
system. The sensor has been focusing on network technologies. This system helps us to
monitor various aerial components. Eliminate the need to visit remote sites to collect data.
Data is stored and displayed on a central server. Automatically go to the online configured
database. This system Possess the following features.
1. Compact and portable.
2. Cost effective and efficient.
3. Continuous online monitoring from a remote location.
4. Uses solar power.
5. Consist of off-the-shelf devices, components, and standards.
6. Can easily adapt to take in different kinds of sensors.
7. Precise and continuous real-time data collection.
The proposed system detection system is divided into two parts. Motion control system
(robotic) and Abnormality Tracking system.
Motion control System:
The motion control system is responsible for this .The movement of the robot that is
installed with the detection system in the working environment. Employed in IR sensor
detecting obstacles along the way. DC motors Involved in the movement of robots. Two
sets of sensors used in the process of avoiding this obstacle i.e. left and Right sensor. The
robot begins to move forward. If the robot is obstructed by the left sensor There is a
tendency to move backwards and turn right. If found Right sensor, then the robot moves
backwards and turns left. If both sensors are interrupted, the robot reaches 180˚ and moves
forward. This can easily happen Understood by the following flow chart.
Abnormality Detection System:
The abnormality detection system consists of
● VOC sensor
● LPG sensor
● Temperature sensor
● Dust sensor
● Alarm
● GSM module
● LCD display
● PIC microcontroller unit
Hardware and software requirements:

Sl. No. Components Specification Quantity

1 Microcontroller PIC16F877 1

2 Microcontroller L293D 1

3 Temperature sensor LM35 1

4 LPG Gas MQ2 1

5 VOC gas sensor 1

6 GSM Module 1

7 Dust sensor 1

8 Buzzer, LCD 1 each

9 Mobile Robot 1

Conclusion:
Has been an intelligent monitoring robot with a warning system Applicable Here are four
key parameters Toxic and explosive gases, change in environment Temperature and dust
particles have been detected. Once a warning message is sent to the authority via GSM, if
the measured value is greater than the nominal value of any gas sensor can be enforced with
known nominal values. His Applications may increase in homes and kitchens, schools
laboratories and hospitals. This system provides speed faster than response rate and manual
methods.
