PROJECT TITLE: DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AUTOMATED POULTRY

MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY OF REHOBOTH POULTRY

FARM).

Introduction

Information and communication Technology is rapidly evolving as an effective tool

for the making of information wide spread and available online for several
communities. The industrial society is turning towards information society.

Problem of the Existing system

1. Loss of records encountered manually in the existing system.

2. It requires lot of paper works which makes expensive to operate.

Automated Poultry Management System is a software solution for the

regulation, management, control and monitoring of the poultry livestocks.

It is a Desktop based Application designed

1. For keeping the records of poultry livestock’s , feedings ,medications, egg

productions and sales of eggs , birds e.t.c
2. And for the remote verification and authentication of information on all
NAFDAC approved products in Nigeria.

Aims

The new proposed system is designed to provide solution to the problem of the
existing system. The main aim of the system is to provide an easier way of registering
and monitoring the sales and records of livestock. It also

 Provides means of getting accurate statistics about the birds.

 Provides means of booking for birds, eggs etc.
 Allows proper monitoring of poultry products.

Objectives
At the end of the project, the proposed system will be able to do the following:

 Develop a database to store some records like number of poultry livestocks,

feedings, medications etc.
 Develop data input interfaces for searching the information available for each
livestock.
 Develop reports for each records of livestocks stored.

Methodology

The work is to be done by carrying out investigation to determine the needs of the
poultry farm using the methods and this can be done by;

1. Interviewing the organization staffs.

2. Observing the way they operate etc.

System Development Tools

For the project to be executed, I intend to use the following:

1. Vb 6.0 programming
2. Access for the back end

It does not need any browser to run on, mostly important is the installation of the
application.
