Calibration Procedure for LD301 using Local Adjustment with Magnetic Tool

This procedure describes the use of the magnetic tool in making the local adjustment of
the LD301 LRV (Lower Range Value) and of the URV (Upper Range Value) parameters.
The local adjustment is made by introducing the magnetic tool cable in the holes Z (Zero)
and S (Span), located under the transmitter identification plate.
The local adjustment uses a tree structure where, by placing the magnetic tool in (Z) it is
possible to browse the options of a branch and, by placing it in (S), details of the chosen
option are shown.
Figure 4.3 of the LD Manual - Programming Tree Using Local Adjustment shows the
LD301 available options.

Hence, in order to calibrate the transmitter by using the local adjustment, do as follows:

1) Insert the magnetic tool in Z and keep it there, this way the display will show
sequentially the available adjust options;
2) When the display shows the option CONF, take the magnetic tool out of Z hole,
inserting it in S, and keep it in S until the first option of the CONF Menu (LCD_1) is
shown in display, when it happens, return and keep the magnetic tool in Z;
3) Now the display shows sequentially the options available at the CONF Menu, when
the display shows the option RANGE, insert the magnetic tool in S, in order to select it,
keeping it in S until the first option of RANGE Menu (UNIT) is shown, when it happens,
return and keep the magnetic tool in Z;

Now you can select, by the same way you did to CONF and RANGE menu, the option
you wish to configure.

In order to make the LRV and URV calibration, just select the four options related to this
parameters, for that do as follows:

4) When the display shows the LRV UP option, insert the magnetic tool cable at S to
select this option, and keep it in S to increase the LRV value. The more the magnetic tool
stays in S, the more will be the value variation, in order to make a fine adjustment, take
the tool out of S for one second, and return t again inside S hole. When the value
displayed is the desired one, return and keep the magnetic tool cable inside Z hole;
5) To select the next option (LRV DOWN), keep the tool in Z until this option is shown,
after it, put and keep the magnetic tool inside the S hole to change this parameter value,
like was done in item 4;

To select the next options, URV UP and URV DOWN, follow the same procedure
described in 5, returning to each parameter any times you require to obtain the desired
value. In order to finish the calibration procedure it is necessary to select the SAVE
option in the RANGE Menu. You can do that by keeping the tool in Z until this option is
shown on display, when it happens, just insert and keep the magnetic tool inside the S
hole;
After the changes are saved, just select the option ESC to return the display to its normal
status, this might also be done by keeping the magnetic tool outside of the Z and S holes.
