The Edge Dual Delay:

Short Delay 1 :10 - 20ms

Long Delay : 350ms - onward

Ring Modulator:

E Level: Max
F Back: Zero
Tone: 12 o’clock
Delay: Between 10ms - 90ms for different pitches
Mode: Reverse

Tip: Take it up to 400ms with some wah and have fun.

Shoegaze Fuzz:

1) Get a guitar with single coils if you don't already have one.
2) Feed a RAT or similar distortion into an amp on the verge of breakup, and set the distortion
between 12:00 and 2:00 to suit your tastes.
3) Stick a DD-20 in between the amp and the RAT, and make a preset with the following:

E Level: Max
F Back: 3 o’clock
Tone: 12 o’clock
Delay: 330ms
Mode: Modulate (Depth 100%, Rate 80%)

Start from there. I tried turning the delay time back a bit so there's not so much trail off when you
stop playing, but the combination of the high feedback and delay time masks the modulation so you
have that bit of swirl and slight pitch-bending buried a bit in the mix. Otherwise, it sounds like you
have a jacked up chorus pedal on in the background, and the modulation end of things is a bit too up-
front for my liking.

Synthy Techno Infinate Sounds:

E Level: Max
F Back: Max
Tone: Max
Delay: 25ms (Or less, preferably 1 to 10ms)
Mode: Smooth

Tip: Strum chord and twiddle time knob. This will produce synthy techno infinite sounds that change
pitch when the time knob is changed.

Using a delay while using the SOS function:

I just figured out how to use delay while using the SOS looping function! While it is limited, you can
do it. Tweak in a delay that you like and write it in bank #1. Now, in manual mode select the SOS
function and sample your loop. Hold down the right pedal until it goes to #1, the loop you have
should still be playing and you can use a delay from the DD-20 to play as well. I hope this helps.

Reverse Slapback:

E Level: 4 o’clock
F Back: 8 o’clock

9/6/2021 DD-20 Settings | The Gear Page

Tone: 1 o’clock
Mode: Reverse
Delay: 300ms

It’s a reverse with a very short tail, sort of like a slapback (masking). It seems to add an interesting
dimension to single note solos and such. This setting is great!

Tip: Add distortion, strum a power chord and hear the note ring. Awesome stuff!

The Edge:

E Level: Max
F Back: 10 o’clock
Tone: 12 o’clock
Mode: Tape (2 Heads)
Delay: 240-350ms.

Tip: I get a good "Where the streets have no name" sound with a shorter delay (245ms).

Double Tracked 1:

Today I was messing around with the "dual" function. I wondered if having both the short and long
delay setting set at the same time would produce a double tracked feel and
it kind of did.

E Level: 12 o’clock – 3 o’clock

F Back: Zero
Tone: 12 o’clock
Mode: Dual
Delay: 6ms

Tip: I tried it out using some overdrive and a setting of 6ms (nice plate reverb sound).

Double Tracked 2:

Usually artificial double tracking using delay is done with just one delay at between 20 -35ms. Either
27 or 28ms is usually the "magic number" for producers.

E Level: 9 o’clock – 12 o’clock

F Back: Nearly off
Tone: 12 o’clock
Mode: Analog
Delay: 20 – 35ms

The Edge “Pride (In the name of love)”:

E Level: To taste
F Back: 1 Repeat
Tone: 12 o’clock
Mode: Modulate (Depth around 30)
Delay: 418ms

Eric Johnson:

E Level: 1 o’clock
F Back: 11 o’clock

Tone: 11 o’clock
Mode: Tape (2 Heads)
Delay: 150 – 300ms

Tip: This is a nice setting with clean and distortion, and very Eric Johnson like.

Echo or Tremolo: (?)

E Level: 1 o’clock – 2 o’clock

F Back: 11 o’clock
Tone: 12 o’clock
Mode: Tape (2 heads)
Delay: 150ms

Sitar:

E Level: To Taste
F Back: 2 o’clock
Tone: 5 o’clock
Mode: Standard
Delay: 8 – 33ms

Tip: So far I really like the DD20 (sitar setting above) & the mojovibe, using the vibe side:
volume: 10 (max)
intensity: 10 (max)
speed: 0 (mini)

Chord Swells:

E Level: To taste
F Back: Max
Tone: 12 o’clock
Mode: Smooth
Delay: 3000ms

Tip: Use the big chord swells and then play lead over it. Wow! I love this delay.

Octave Setting:

Don't know if it’s been thrown in the mix but I have an octave setting. Sort of like playing into a
steel drum. The octave sounds really digital but its fun to muck around with.

E Level: Max
F Back: 3 o’clock
Tone: 12 o’clock (Add more for more pronounced octave/resonance)
Mode: Dual
Delay: 6 – 8ms (Short: 10ms)

Tip: Minor adjustments may be needed. It’s up to you.

Cave Reverb:

As for the "Cave" reverb setting, try messing around with the "Smooth" mode. I can usually cop some
cool spring or plate reverb sounds if I fiddle with it enough. The tone control is the key.

Chorus:

E Level: 3 o’clock
F Back: Zero
Tone: 3 o’clock

Simulated Leslie Speaker:

E Level: 4 o’clock
F Back: Zero
Tone: 4 o’clock
Mode: Modulate (Rate 100, Depth 78)
Delay: 1ms

Flanger:

I don't actually have a flanging sound stored in user memory, but these settings will get you in the
ballpark. Keep in mind that it won't do a full jet swoosh like a dedicated unit. In order to get a better
flanging effect, it would nice if the modulation rate could be set slower and the sweep had a greater
range. Control of the modulation waveform would be nice too....

E Level: Full
F Back: 1:30
Tone: 4:30
Mode: Modulate (Rate 0, Depth 100)
Delay: 1ms

Slow, Deep Chorus:

E Level: 3:00 (clock format)

F Back: none
Tone: 3:00
