MARTIAL LAW
Martial law involves the temporary substitution of military
authority for civilian rule and is usually invoked in time of war,
rebellion, or natural disaster. Typically, the imposition of
martial law accompanies curfews, the suspension of civil law,
civil rights, habeas corpus, and the application or extension of
military law or military justice to civilians. Many private
establishment particularly media companies critical of the
government were closed when the martial law was declared.
Reporters, journalists, political opponents, and student activists
were also the target of human abuses back then, as freedom of
expression was subdue.
People against the law faced difficulty and accused to
penalty/death, and some hid under the ground while other
people said that it is just normal when you follow the rules.
