B. Original Essay 3 Varieties of Animal Camouflage for Survival (pp.18-19 GW5)

Summary

Animals must protect themselves from predators and many do this through
camouflage. Concealing coloration helps animals to blend into their surroundings;
disruptive coloration (spots and stripes) also creates an optical illusion. Some
animals disguise themselves to resemble specific elements of their surroundings,
and others’ colouring mimics that of more dangerous creatures. By concealing
coloration, disruptive coloration, disguise or mimicry animals use camouflage to
escape their natural enemies.
