Skin is the thin line of life and appearance of a person.

Two layers of flesh is the identity one carries for himself. And
with the humanity diversifying people are afraid of their
identity!! Why??
Because the console of a person for person is humiliated.
People go ways for taking revenge or to make suffer.
More than 7 million people in India suffers from burn
injuries and diseases associated with , every year. Among these
are acid victims, accident victims or whose skin has become
their enemy by some sort. Every year 1-1.5 million people get
crippled and require multiple injuries or prolonged
rehabilitation from burn injuries.

The question is why am I writing this? It happens

everywhere and will continue but what can we do? And
answer is you can offer a whole lot of help. With a boon of time
in hand pledge to donate your or loved ones skin after death,
will cost you nothing!

Skin is the largest organ of human anatomy and helps

protect from heat and cold as well as chemical reaction,
elergies, UV-radiation and etc.

When the shield of skin is destructed its impossible to

heal without outer help. One way to promote healing is –
Allografts-skin from another donor.
If the patient is not helped with covers of skin substances they
are likely to prone infections, fluid loss ultimately Death!

Skin can be donated similarly as corneas, organ or tissues

upon death. Donor’s skin can be frozen , preserved and stored
for long time, upto 5 years. Cities in India like Mumbai has skin
banks storing skins and proving it to needful. Skin can be
donated within 6 hours of death.

You can register for a Donor Card at www.organindia.org

and mention on it that you want to be a skin donor too. Tick the
box that says Skin Donation. It IS NOT compulsory to register
with anyone. The skin donation can be carried out irrespective
once the call is made to the Skin Bank after Death.

The most important thing you can do is to TALK TO YOUR

FAMILY. Convey to them that you want to be a skin donor, so
that they respect your wishes. Please remember that it is the
next of kin who will make that call to the skin bank, so they
