IMPROMPTU SPEECH

1. How can unequal conditions for different social classes be combated?

 “The worst form of inequality is to try to make unequal things equal” ~Aristotle
 AAAs (Triple A’s) - Acknowledge, Accept, Act
 Acknowledge – Acknowledge that inequality and injustices do happen. We
may not see them or experience them firsthand but it doesn’t mean that it is
not true. That for centuries people have been discriminated because of their
look, gender, clothing, and language and it continues until today. That people
are being judged because of their social status and Family Background.
 Accept – Accept that we all have imperfections and flaws that makes us
distinct from one another thus it gives us more of a self-identity. But it
doesn’t make us less of a human. It also means that we should accept our own
identity and race. Because acceptance and change starts from within (E.g
BLM movement in America, many Filipino sympathized to it but they see
being dark skinned as a flaw and makes them ugly thus buying whitening
products) Let’s stop the hypocrisy that we are doing. Preach what you teach
 Act – Act to change and inspire other people. Change will not flourish by its
own in mere words. We must do an action to break the stereotypes that are
chaining our society. (like English is a way of telling which ones are the rich
and classy and which one are the poor and baduy etc., that dark skinned means
poor and dirty or dugyot and being light skinned correlates with being high
class)
2. Should people be restricted by social rules and ethical codes, and why?

 Social rules are there to guide us on how to properly conduct on a way that is
pleasing for everyone. Yes, I think we should abide them but we shouldn’t be
restricted by it. It is good to have good.
 Toxic Masculinity
 Toxic Femininity

3. How has the environmental pollution worsened our quality of life?

 “Environmental Pollution is an Incurable Disease. It can only be prevented” ~

Barry Commoner
 Pollution creates an imbalance to our natural flora and fauna. From wastes going
to the ocean choking marine life. To the pollutant gas that destroys our ozone
layer which protects us from the sun.
 According to studies, pollution does affect the way people perceive their life.
There’s chemicals in the Brain that improves our mood and creativity. But
because of exposure to pollution. It creates and imbalance which makes us groggy
and tired.
 Also because of the depleting ozone layer, more heat was experienced on Earth.
When it is too hot, we feel tired and indisposed thus it lessens our productivity
because all we care is to freshen ourselves and get out of this heat.
 Also seeing polluted rivers, oceans, and places makes us feel bad for humanity. It
generates anger that we are suffering because of the combined ignorance and
neglecting of the environment. It also lowers our life expectancy
 It can also cause diseases like Tuberculosis and Lung Cancer because of air
pollution, Salmonella and E-coli because of water pollution, and potential
breeding grounds for bacteria and viruses in land polluted area.
4. Should the government constantly encourage people to convert waste into reusable
material?

5. What environmental issue keeps menacing the environment in the Philippines?

 September 26, 2009, October 2013, November 8, 2013, October 2020, November
2020. On these days, 5 of the Strongest Typhoons of the 20 th Century occurred.
Namely, Ondoy, Santi, Yolanda, Rolly and Ulysses.
 Philippines being surrounded by oceans and water experiences about 20 typhoons
per year. So an average Filipino may encounter in his lifetime about 1420
typhoons if he reached the age of 71.
 We know that this typhoon can be detected early but
6. What television show you think should be canceled, and why?

 “Reality Shows are all the Rage at the TV as of the Moment. But that’s not
reality. It’s just an aesthetical form of fiction” ~Steven Soderbergh
 The television show that should be canceled are the show that are not true to their
names. Which are Reality TV Shows or the PBB.
o Reality – shows like this whether unscripted doesn’t show the essence of
reality. Maybe it is the reality that they want us to perceive. Reality is not
always living comfortably on a big house; junk foods are within reach if
you want them. That you can swim and relax when you wanted to. Is it
good that instead of correcting others for their mistakes, is they are being
gossiped by the other housemates? That instead of educating them of what
to and not to do, is they degrading others by voting them out and evicting
them. Is this the kind of attitude that we want to be told as reality?
o Identity - Is it reality if the people in it are not allowed to be fully
themselves? That they should always wear a façade that shows just their
good sides? That if they a make a move to be their selves, they are being
ridiculed and bashed.
o Privacy – The privacy of each participant is being compromised. Each
day they are being seen by cameras that reflects to thousands of eyes
around the world. Even CRs have cameras. Also some of them are
displaying malicious conducts on screen. But instead of correcting it, they
encouraged it because it is what keeps the rating high.
 Reality TV shows are fun to watch but if they go out of context and fly away from
their true purpose, it’s time for them to be canceled. Until the RIP is not corrected,
they can Rest In Peace for a while.
7. Speak on what is the best way to combat internet crime and piracy

 N-E-T, Nurture, Encourage, Think

 Nurture, educating the minds of the people especially the youth coz they are
more susceptible to be victims. Educate them that the internet world can be
dangerous if mishandled.
 Encourage, encourage victims of this crimes to stand-up and share their
experience on how they were baited and how did they manage to get out. If we
don’t encourage them, they will forever be in fear without giving their story.
 Think, as cliché as it may sound, Think Before You Click, think whether in the
next 3-10 years, you would like to still see what you did. Because in the Internet,
once you click it, there’s no turning back.
 “We are all now connected by the Internet, like Neurons in a Giant Brain” ~
Stephen Hawking
8. How do you see the killing of animals that keep happening all over the world to
produce food or other leather materials?

 “Not eating meat is a decision, eating meat is an instinct” ~Denis Leary

 58 million kilos of Beef or about 77,333 cows are being eaten by Uruguay alone
in a Year. Around 14. 6 kg of pork were consumed by an average Filipino in a
Year.
 Meat is a staple food for many people especially in the Philippines. Every single
thing is celebrated here. When there’s a birthday, celebrate, when there’s fiesta,
we celebrate. When someone died, we don’t celebrate but we still offer them
food. That is why Filipinos are known for their hospitality. Our answer to most of
our problems is food. And one of the biggest ingredients of our food is meat.
(examples)
 Another thing is fashion. You may think that fashion doesn’t harm animals. I
don’t wear meat for accessories. But most of the things we wear comes from
animals. Leather comes from cows, alligators, and snake. Wool comes from
sheep. Elephants were killed and poached for their tusks. Exotic and Wild animals
are being hunted to be displayed like trophies. Around one billion animals were
hunted and brutally killed just for the expense of beautification of humans.
 But does it mean that we should not consume other animals? It’s up to you if you
want to be vegan. But the one thing that we need is Sustainability. It means that
animals that are butchered should be killed in a humane way. In a way that has
minimal pain and not extracted in a harsh way. It also means that animals should
not be injected with steroids and antibiotics just for them to lay eggs or to give
more birth or to be big in just 1 week. Every animal that we kill should be
replaced twice just like in planting trees.
 Fashion industries like Levi’s and H&M are now shifting to an animal cruelty free
products which gives as faux leather, fur etc. but with the same feel and quality.
Foods are also shifting into meat alternatives like vegan meat which tastes the
same as real meat but much healthier.
9. What is the most useless invention do you think?
10. What goes around comes around, how would you explain it?

11. What could we do to save the earth?

 ACT, Advocate, Conserve,

12. Tell us what can we do to increase our patience?

13. How can world peace be achieved?

14. Every change should start with the man in the mirror, do you agree with it?

 “Be the Change you want to see in the World” ~Mahatma Gandhi
 Most people have a mindset that
15. Do you think the doomsday is real?
16. Can we reach our goals without working hard?

 Think of your goal as a house. In order to make a good house you need to lay
some foundation. This foundation will serve as the basis of your goal. In building
a house steps m

17. What does being fair mean for you?

18. What do you think being educated means?

 Being educated for me means not only academic, but also educated in manners.

19. All that glitters is not gold, explain it

 “All that Glitters is Not Gold”, a classic statement that came from a French
Theologian.
 It means that shiny, attractive, or charming things are not what you think they are.
Each and every one of us is wearing a façade in order for us to fit in. They say
that we have three faces, one that we show to the world, one that we show to our
family and friends, and one that we never show anyone.
 We may be charming or always good but that doesn’t mean that we are saintly or
that we don’t make mistakes
 Not everything that shines is important and valuable. Some do hurt us and may
potentially injure us.
i. Knives – At first they look shiny and attractive. If it’s new it sparkles like
an attractive piece of metal. It’s helpful in cooking and slicing. But if it
lands on the wrong hands, it may be the cause of our injury or potential
death. Sometimes the sweetest words can act as knives that can stab you
especially when you know it is just lies
ii. Mirror – What we see in the mirror is the reflection of our true self. Or
does it? Sometimes the man in the mirror is our greatest enemy. Our self
attacks it self by over thinking or self harm. So beware that even yourself
can’t be trusted sometimes.
iii. Money – Most people say that the Love of Money is the root of all Evil.
Money are the most cherished object by many because of the things that
you can buy with it. But it remains nothing if you don’t have the greatest
treasure in life. Love, Family, and Morals.
20. The world is full of nice people. In your own opinion, are you one of them

21. When you are in a room full of people, do you mostly feel happy or lonely?

22. Do you think all people are selfish?

 All people are selfish! Selfishness or the act of prioritizing a person or oneself
while lacking consideration to others. Selfishness is considered bad or evil
 Some are egocentric selfish while others are too helpful that they are being selfish
to themselves.

23. Do you think being a part of LGBTQ+ is a sin?

 “When you reduce life to black and white, you’ll never see the rainbow”
 When you’re going to look information in the Internet you’ll see plenty of
religious articles that says that being LGBTQ+ is a sin. But is it really a sin if you
are living righteously and within the law?
 On a denotative meaning, a sin is an immoral act that is considered to be a
transgression against divine law. If God made all human beings, then why did he
made LGBTQ+ people that way if it is a violation to his laws?
 On October 2020 Pope Francis said “gay people have a right to family.”. In 2018
he said “That (gay) son and daughter has a right to family. Do not throw them
away.” And in 2013 he said, “If gay people accept the Lord and has a goodwill,
who am I to judge?”
 Being part of the LGBTQ+ is NOT a sin. People who are part of this family are
being discriminated for a long time. They receive death threats, physical abuse
and are being abuse mentally.
 If and only if being a LGBTQ+ is a sin, doesn’t it all makes us more of a sinner?
Because we are judging them because of their preferences in life. Giving a false
prejudice and discrimination to people who chose to be their selves.
 Let me ask you a question, when was the last time that you became true to
yourself. That you chose to do what you want to do without thinking about other
people might feel and think? Last month? Year? Or Never? Then you’re missing
the experience that the non-binary people are currently cherishing. To be free and
to be their 100% self.
 If you think being an LGBTQ+ is a sin. Then it is also a sin to be yourself.
 Let’s be part of LGBTQ+ community. We may not be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgender, Queer, or Intersex. But let’s be an Ally. A friend. To let them know
that we support them as long as they are law-abiding citizens. Because that is
what all people need, an ally or a friend.
24. Will life be better in the next century?

 “The Future starts Today Not Tomorrow” ~Pope John Paul II

 I think that depends whether 3 point which I will tell you will change or not.
o System- The system or our government is what will dictate about the
future of our society. They were supposed to lay the foundations on
building a strong and functional society. They should not be governed by
power and money hungry people. But rather with people who have
empathy and compassion to public service. Not because it’s what we need
but because it is what we deserve.
o Education- I still firmly believe that “The children are the hope of the
future”. We need to instill their minds that they are studying and learning
not just to comply or because it is needed to have a “better job”, but rather
we should teach them the real essence of learning. And that is gain
knowledge and use it to change our system. We need to teach them to
listen and respect at the same time justify on what they think is right. We
also need to supplement not just their intellectual capacities but also their
moral virtues.
o Time- A 100 years is so many years. We don’t know what can happen in
the next year, decade and the decade after that. But we know for certain
that a journey to a thousand miles starts with a single step. If we manage
and use our time wisely into improving our own selves and our
community. We may be able to change the future into the better.
 My message for the 30th century people, don’t make the same mistakes that the
older generation did. If you already saw that something is wrong and you still
copied it, it’s just plain stupidity.
25. When is it ok to lie?

 “A single lie discovered is enough to create doubt in every truth expressed”

 It is never okay to lie. As someone said, lying is like an addiction. It gives us the
feeling of ecstasy and short-term fulfillment. When you lie, you are forced to lie
again to cover that lie, giving you the burden of truth. Someone who says that
Lying is Nobel when you are doing it for a good intention is actually lying. It just
gives as a short-term escape from the reality of truth that keeps on hunting us. But
what if we lie, will that change the truth? Will that make us feel better?
 For example, a friend lied to you about his disease that may cause her demise. She
thinks that she can protect you from the pain that you will experience upon
knowing. Then she suddenly became worse. Did she protect you from
experiencing pain? No. It only worsened the situation ‘coz the pain of knowing
the disease adds up to the pain that she’s lying to you. And from then on You
might have trust issues with other people because of what you’ve experienced.
 So, tell what you want to say especially to somebody you care. Will it hurt?
Definitely but in time it will heal because of the realization that you’ve chose to
tell the truth than keep him in comforting lies.
26. What is the difference between Intelligence and Wisdom?

 " Wisdom always leads to truth, while intelligence may be used to deceive" ~
Tao Te Ching
 Intelligence is knowing something. You can acquire it through a process of
learning. You know it by “textbook meaning”
 Wisdom is the ability to use your intelligence and your moral virtues to form a
good judgement. Can be acquired through a process of experience.
27. Online communication can never be as good as real life friendship.

 The Internet is so Big, and so Powerful and Pointless that for some people it is
a complete substitute for Life” ~Andrew Brown
 There are three things that Online Communication can’t mimic from reality.
i. Connection, the connection that no internet, Bluetooth, or wifi can reach.
It is a connection that can only be built through understanding. The
connection that were built for years or even hours that can’t be interrupted
by Internet failure or Strength.
28. Is it true that uniforms take away individuality?

29. Is it impossible to go back to living without technology?

30. Child abuse turns people into psychopaths.

31. How to deny reality.

32. Color affects the way people feel.

33. Deaf people use emotions to communicate.

34. If your inner voice was an actual person and talked to you the way it usually does,
would you enjoy the conversation and keep in touch with them?

35. Do you think there’s a difference between living and existing?

 “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist” ~Oscar Wilde
 Existing- simply to be alive. Merely existing without known purpose
 Living – to cherish and spend your life with the things that you want to do and
enjoy
 Aim to not just exist in this world but rather to live with a purpose that you want
to achieve.
 “The moment you start walking in your purpose is the moment you shift from
existing to living”
36. If you really learn from your mistakes, why are you so afraid of making them?

 “The greatest mistake a man can ever make is to be afraid of making one” ~
Elbert Hubbard
 I think we are not afraid of the concepts of making a mistake but rather on the
consequences and the impact on our ego that mistakes make on us.
 We are not accustomed to accepting our mistakes because it makes us feel bad
about our self. It makes us feel the grief that we could have done better.
 We also sometimes seek for the opinion of other people especially if we have an
expectation to manage. That every mistakes will bounce back on the way that they
perceive us.
 Mistakes builds us to be stronger and tougher than we ever been. But in a single
snap it can also destroy our personality that we manage to build
 “Never Judge a person for their mistakes, judge a person on how they fix
them”
37. Is the thing you want to achieve really that hard to achieve or is it that you didn’t
try hard to achieve it?

38. If you don’t have what you want, what do you have to lose?

 Sometimes, we are always seeking for the

39. “Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers.”

 A man who question one’s belief is a proof of them not believing their beliefs and
do not accept other people. We should always be aware of what are the questions
they are asking, by observing their question, we can see if they are throwing hate
towards a certain topic.
