CHAPTER IV

Presentation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Data

This chapter presents the data gathering of the study, interpretation of the results
from the conducted survey. The questionnaire and interview schedules are attached as
Appendix B.

1. What is the current state of e-book management in PHCM?

The figure above shows the current state of e-book management in perpetual
help college of manila. PHCM server needs to request the e-books, e-lectures, or
examinations to the main server which is located in perpetual help college of biñan.
After requesting the main server will accept the request and enable the requested e-
books, e-lectures, or examinations, then the PHCM server can enable the requested e-
books. After enabling the requested files the student can download or view the e-books,
e-lectures, or the examinations.
2. What are the necessary data and requirements to build E-book Management
Application for PHCM Senior High School?

E-book Management (EMA) Mobile Application and Webserver require the user’s
information to access the system. Basic Information such as name, address, age,
phone number, birthdate and valid e-mail address are needed.
The mobile application is limited to the senior high students of perpetual help college
of manila.
An internet connection, android phone and a computer or laptop are the basic
requirements to build and access E-book Management Application.

The figure above shows the data flow diagram of E-Book Management
Application. The admin is the one who creates the accounts. The admin also uploads
the e-books. After creating the users account the user can now log in to the E-book
Management application and view the uploaded e-books.
Software such as Notepad++, BootStrap, PHP, HTML, WampServers are needed to
develop the webserver of Grab Police and Java Eclipse, Android API, SQLite for the
mobile application.

The figure 7 shows the flow of E-book Management Application (EMA). Once the
administrator uploads the e-books, then the application then sort the e-book according
to its category. The student can now view e-book on the application.

4. What is the level of expectation of the senior high students of PHCM in terms
of: Accessibility of E-books?

Table 6 presents the result of respondents’ answer with weighted mean and its
interpretation. The question number 1.2 got the highest weighted mean of 4.40 which
interprets as high expectation. It clearly shows that the senior high students have a high
expectation that the e-book management application will provide great assistance in
their studies. The question number 1.1 got the weighted mean of 4.10 which interprets
as high expectation. It clearly shows that the senior high students have a high
expectation that the proposed application can categorize the uploaded e-book properly.
The question number 1.3 got the weighted mean of 4.25 which interpreted as high
expectation. It clearly shows that the senior high students have a high expectation that
they can easily view the uploaded e-books in the application. Overall, the level of
expectation of the senior high students in terms of: accessibility of e-books got the
average weighted mean of 4.22 with the verbal interpretation of “high expectation” it
means that the senior high students have a high expectation in the proposed system.

5. What is the level of acceptance of the respondents in terms of functionality,


reliability, usability, and portability of the developed system? (Senior High

Table 7 presents the result of respondents’ answer with weighted mean and its
interpretation. The question number 3 got the highest weighted mean of 4.15 which
interprets as functional. It clearly shows that the senior high students agreed that the e-
books and e-lectures can be easily viewed. The question number 1 got the weighted
mean of 4.05 which interprets as functional. It clearly shows that the senior high
students agreed that the proposed application prohibits the download of e-books and e-
lectures. The question number 2 got the weighted mean of 3.80 which interpreted as
functional. It clearly shows that the senior high students agreed that the application can
properly categorize the uploaded e-books according to its genre. Overall, the
functionality got the average weighted mean of 4.00 with the verbal interpretation of
“high expectation” it means that the senior high students agreed that the e-book
management application is functional.

interpretation. The question number 1 got the highest weighted mean of 4.20 which
interprets as functional. It clearly shows that the IT professionals agreed that the
proposed application prohibits the download of e-books and e-lectures. The question
number 2 got the weighted mean of 4.10 which interprets as functional. It clearly shows
that the IT professionals agreed that the application can properly categorize the
uploaded e-books according to its genre. The question number 3 got the weighted
mean of 4.10 which interpreted as functional. It clearly shows that the IT professionals
agreed that the e-books and e-lectures can be easily viewed. Overall, the functionality
got the average weighted mean of 4.13 with the verbal interpretation of “high
expectation” it means that the IT professionals agreed that the e-book management
application is functional.

interpretation. The question number 3 got the highest weighted mean of 4.40 which
interprets as usable. It clearly shows that the senior high students agreed that the
application can be accessed anywhere by android phones through internet connection.
The question number 2 got the weighted mean of 4.35 which interprets as usable. It
clearly shows that the senior high students agreed that the proposed application can be
used in their studies. The question number 1 got the weighted mean of 4.15 which
interpreted as usable. It clearly shows that the senior high students agreed that the
application is easy to operate and control. Overall, the reliability got the average
weighted mean of 4.30 with the verbal interpretation of “usable” it means that the senior
high students agreed that the e-book management application is usable.

as usable. It clearly shows that the IT professionals agreed that the application is easy
to operate and control. The question number 2 got the weighted mean of 4.40 which
interprets as usable. It clearly shows that the IT professionals agreed that the proposed
application can be accessed anywhere by android phones through internet connection.
Overall, the reliability got the average weighted mean of 4.40 with the verbal
interpretation of “usable” it means that the IT professionals agreed that the e-book
management application is usable.

interprets as convenient. It clearly shows that the senior high students agreed that the
application is user friendly in terms of portability. The question number 1 got the
weighted mean of 4.35 which interprets as convenient. It clearly shows that the senior
high students agreed that the proposed application can be easily installed on android
devices. Overall, the portability got the average weighted mean of 4.40 with the verbal
interpretation of “convenient” it means that the senior high students agreed that the e-
book management application is portable.

weighted mean of 4.20 which interprets as convenient. It clearly shows that the IT
professionals agreed that the proposed application can be easily installed on android
devices. Overall, the portability got the average weighted mean of 4.25 with the verbal
interpretation of “convenient” it means that the IT professionals agreed that the e-book
management application is portable.
