Mr. Shahanas,
We apologize if this issue made you look bad in front of Aramco, but please let us give you a brief history &
insight about the current technical issue of the flooring as we also wanted to resolve this.
1. Prior to installation of the acrylic system 2.2mm thick we visited the site and investigated the asphalt and
we found out that the 2.2mm thick acrylic flooring system is a risky choice for the current asphalt with
recuring cracks condition.
2. Our team tried to warn your team regarding the risk of having the same cracks to reoccur if 2.2mm thick
acrylic is applied. We offered a better option which is to apply 8‐10mm thick SBR rubber layer cushion
before applying 2.2mm acrylic which we always offer to clients which requires repair on their sports
flooring. (Please be informed that we are not specialized in this flooring system installation, site team
was not aware/advise of your observation investigated in your site visit as mentioned in point # 1. Please
share the official correspondence/technical & commercial proposal of alternate plan to site
team/procurement (Alascon), if any.)
3. Unfortunately, we were advised to keep the current ordered acrylic system and just apply with a
different repair approach thus taking the risk of having the crack reappear despite of the waring from our
project manager. (Please see the above response in point#2)
Solution:
1. Still the best and long‐term solution for this is to apply a new layer of Acrylic system with 8‐10mm thick
SBR Rubber (Pour‐in‐place) as this can cover small cracking if it reoccurs with the asphalt surface and
thus cracks will not be noticeable externally. (This means your team has to make new order for this
system)
2. Temporary solution can be refilling the cracks with SARPCO crack filler and reapply acrylic paint on the
cracks. This can work to last for a few months until crack will reappear as the main issue is the asphalt
itself and not our product.
