Exercise writing 6.5.

This was a discussion of the meeting about diversity. Their workforce had 80% male
but a few of female and ethnic minorities. And they were finding measures to reflect
the increasing diversity.

They didn’t think that “measures” mean positive discrimination and it wasn’t the right
way to approach the problem. They needed measures to ensure that they didn’t
discriminate against anyone based on their age, race, gender, religion, or anything
else.

Christopher considered that this is HR’s problem but Jan thought they were getting
side- tracked. And then they talked about how to attract more applications from
women.

Some ideas were made: Offering more part-time positions, flexible hours, longer
holidays when the schools are closed, a four-day week because the women must
manage their family.
