EXTERNAL CUTTER PROCEDURE

1) Chek OD of fish Tool Jts ect.

2) Check coupling e.g. Vam or Hydrill.

3) Inverted flipper dogs required when cutting Hydrill connections if inverted

flipper dog cage unavailable run a Hydraulic cutter.

4) Secure knives back.

5) Trip in hole.

6) Record Wt up _____ Wt dn _____ Wt rotating _____ Torque rotating

7) Travel down over fish slowly to desired depth.

8) Slowly pick up to coupling is located with minimum over pull.

9) Mark the pipe.

10 ) Slack off.

11 ) Rotate +/- 50 RPM stop rotating.

12 ) Slowly pick up 1”.

13 ) Rotate for +/- 1 minute.

14 ) Continue these steps until mark on pipe is at least 6” above rotary table.

15 ) A successful cut will be indicated by an increase in weight after cut is made

or an increase in cutting torque , when cut is made torque will drop off.

4 Drive sub
5 Drill pipe.
