CASING CUTTER PROCEDURES.

1) Check casing collars around cut depth.

2) Function test the cutter on surface


Take note note of the strokes to open the Knives SPM = _________
This will be the minimum requirement whatever depth the tool is run.

3) Ensure that the knives are tied back securely, so they do not expand prematurely

4) Trip in hole to cut depth.

5) Travel down past the cut depth then pull back to the cut point, and record.
WT up _______WT dn_______ Rotating_______ Free Rotary torque______

6) Bring pump up to required rate, this may depend on the size of cutter.

7) Casing when cut may Jump or a press drop noticed.

8 ) Slack off weight into the groove to ensure there is 100% cut, this will lead to
marks on the bottom of the knives. This is not possible if a marine swivel is being
used.

9) To confirm cut stop pump pick up 3 ft restart pump, slowly travel down when
knives enter cut out a pressure drop should be noticed.

CASING CUTTER B.H.A . 7” To 9 5/8”

Bull nose or taper mill.

Casing Cutter. If a larger cutter is being used check you may


need to stabilize the casing cutter.
Cross over sub.

D.C. and D.P. to surface.
