CONTACT SUSPECT:
I made contact with the Suspect by telephone this date. I explained to him that I was investigating the
assault at Rothbury and wanted him to explain his side of the story to me. explained that he was
apprehensive about giving me a statement because of possible legal consequences. I explained to him that it
was his right to refuse to speak to me if he chose, and I explained to him that I could not give him legal advise.
I asked to consult anybody that he needed to and to speak with an attorney if he felt that he should. I
advised that I would re-contact him in the near future after he had made a decision.

MEDICAL RECORDS:
I asked the to make contact with Mercy Hospital and see that his medical records could be released to
the State Police. He stated that he would arrange for his records to be released.

7-12-12 Clement Tx'd suspect this date. Suspect wants to consult an attorney prior to giving a
statement. Will call back next week.
7-19-12 Clement Tx'd suspect ref statement. Left message asking him to call me back at the post.

CONTACT SUSPECT:
I called the Suspect's telephone this date and it went to voicemail. I asked the Suspect to call me back by the
end of the business day and let me know if he wanted to make a statement or not.

A short time later, the Suspect called the post and advised that he did not wish to make a statement. I
explained to him that if the prosecutor issued a warrant for his arrest, I would contact him and ask him to turn
himself in. The Suspect asked for additional information from the police report and I advised him that I
could not release any information from a police report to him. I gave him the complaint number for this
report and explained how to get a copy of the report from freedom of information.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Sgt. Hockanson advised that when he spoke with the Suspect on 7-5-12, he asked for the telephone number of
the Victim so that he could contact him and "apologize for what I did to him". Sgt. Hockanson advised the
Suspect that he could not release any personal information.

CRIMINAL HISTORY:
A criminal history was run on the Suspect.

Have not heard back from him or the suspect. TX'd Suspect again this date and asked
him again to arrange to turn himself in. Said he is waiting to hear from attorney.
10/05/12 Clement Spoke with Suspects attorney this date. Provided him with TX for Oceana County
Prosecutors office. He is going to make arrangement for Suspect to turn
himself in.

INFORMATION:

I was contacted by Tpr. Goodrich who requested I do a closing supp advising of the Nolle Prosequi received by
Prosecutor Bizon. Prosecutor Bizon advised that the case is 8 years old and the witness can no longer be
located. The warrant has been cancelled in LEIN.
