I made contact with and asked him to explain what had happened. advised that
he was sleeping in his tent along with They awoke to an acquaintance

not know Steve and Brain very well. explained that had some property in locked

Unit Baker 23, Tpr. Andres, and I made contact with the suspect in Camp Megawatt. Tpr. Andres asked
to stop and if he could pat him down. complied. I asked what his names was.
IDENTIFICATION:
I located the original complainants at their tent, and asked if they would be willing and able to ID the suspect.
They agreed. and came with me to look at At a short distance, and
were able to confirm that this was the same that had assaulted them and broken their

Command was able to run a partial name search on and produced the correct suspect
information. had provided a false name, but a correct date of birth, and address. Additionally,
had an unrelated warrant from Kentwood PD which provided matching biographical descriptors: height, weight,
hair, and eyes.
had an unrelated warrant for failure to appear on a probation violation out of Kentwood PD. The
pickup range as 50 miles, and they did not wish to place a hold.
ARREST:
I informed he was under arrest for assault and MDOP. I handcuffed, double locked, and checked for
tension without incident. I then searched his person.
SEARCH:
I searched incident to arrest, and located three clear plastic baggies containing a white powdery
substance in his left pants pocket (property item #1). I asked what it was, and he said it was not his

I read his Miranda Rights from my Department issued Miranda Warning card. understood his
rights, and agreed to answer my questions at that time. I asked about the white powdery substance,

through jail staff. was issued paper citation #E424833 for assault and MDOP.
FSD-007:
An FSD-007 was submitted with property items #1 and #2 for drug analysis.
A criminal history, 35, and 42C were obtained for and forwarded to Misty at the Oceana County
Prosecutor

Sgt. Wilson informed me via email on 08/12/18 that had been arrested and lodged at the
Ottawa County Jail for multiple warrants, including the below cocaine warrant. posted bond at the
Ottawa County Jail, and was given a court appearance date. The warrant was cancelled. I carried an arrest
on my daily on 08/13/18.
