INCIDENT STATUS:

NON-AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
INFORMATION:
Tpr. Theodore and I were dispatched to the E.F.F. gate G to meet with a female that had been
assaulted by Security. Upon arrival, we noted a female with blood on her face and shirt.

I spoke with separate from her friends. I asked what had happened. stated that
she and her two friends were returning to their car and were exiting the venue at gate G. stated
that her friend did not have the wristband to allow her to exit that gate. stated that her

sustained injuries to her face and lip. Considerable blood was noted on her face and clothes.

INTERVIEW
After interviewing I then spoke to alone. I asked what had taken place.
stated that she had gone to the Electric Forest with her friends. said she did not have the
same wristband as her friends, and that when she was going to exit the Forest with her friends,
security would not let her. said that security told her she would have to exit another way.
said that attempted to reason with the security guard; however, they would not allow
her to exit. said that she did not see how it all escalated, but she did see the male guard
strike in the face.

I (Tpr. Theodore), made contact with at the scene and interviewed her
reference this incident. I asked her to explain what she saw.
According to she was working security at an exit gate from the Electric Forest Festival. She
said that a group of three girls approached her exit point and two of the three girls had the proper
wristband to exit her gate. She said the third subject did not have the appropriate wristband to exit at
her checkpoint. said that she denied the third subject to exit this check point. According to
a white, intoxicated female wearing brown got into her face. It is believed that this female is
said the female began shoving her and getting in her face. said that
another white female dressed in pink, believed to be then began to approach her
said that a bunch of people got around them and the girl in pink started pushing on
She said that hit her back to get her away. She said that he did
hit her in the face with a backhand to defend himself. said that this ended the altercation and
she and waited for the police to arrive. said that only hit

INTERVIEW SUSPECT:
I asked to explain what happened during this incident. He explained that he and
were working as security guards at a checkpoint leaving the Electric Forest
Festival. He said that three females approached their station to check out. said that
two of the females were white and one was black. said that the two white females
had the appropriate wristbands to exit this gate but the black female did not have the right wristband
to exit the gate. said that denied the female with the wrong wristband to exit
the gate, as she should. said that one of the white females became very upset and
got into face. This was believed to be said that a second female
stepped up to and was starting to get into her face. This was believed to be He
said that he then got involved and stepped in between and
said that pushed him in the chest and into his throat. He said that he
instinctively swung at her to protect himself. said that he backhanded her in the face
to defend himself. said that he did not really mean to hit her but the whole thing was
more reactive then anything. I asked him how many times he hit and he said he thought only
one time. It was only one backhand.

said that after this happened the female backed off and called for the police. He
said that he called his boss and waited for the police to come to the scene. I asked
if he wished to press charges against the female that pushed him in the throat. He said that he did
not wish to press charges against her. I advised him that we would submit a report to the Prosecutor
for review.

A C.C.H. was turned over to Misty at the Oceana County Prosecutors office on 6/27/16.

7/05/16 Nelson Initial review. Prosecutor Bizon reviewed the report and has decided to take no
action. He stated that he declined charges.
