that could cause an accident.

2. Almar Intersection–There are no stoplights but there was a traffic enforcer who
guided the intersection to avoid accidents.

ASSIGNMENT #3. Make an action plan on how to prevent the root causes of
accidents you wrote in #2 assignments.

1. Defective or traffic lights not working. Usually causes accidents in the

intersection most especially at night because most of the drivers in that time are
driving fast.

Action Plan:
- Ensure that this will be reported immediately so that the proper authority will take
action to solve it.

2. Driving under the influence of alcohol. Drunk drivers can become drowsy or
fall asleep at the wheel, and veer into oncoming traffic in a head-on collision.

Action Plan:
- Driver must avoid drinking alcohol. If a driver consumes too much alcohol make
sure that he or she will not drive or ensure to be sober before driving.

3. Distracted driving is the leading cause of accidents. Most of the drivers are
texting or talking on their mobile phones while driving. Distracted driving also
includes eating, reading, grooming, applying make-up or any activities that may
distract a driver while driving and lead to possible accident.

Action Plan:
- So to avoid this, do not do anything aside from driving. Just focus on your driving
even on a stop light. Do other activities if you are already in your destination.

4. Speeding. You may feel tempted to push your speed from time to time, but it’s
wise to remain within the posted speed limits. With speeding as the one of the
leading cause of car accidents.

Action Plan:
- Do not rush, it’s better to risk running late than it is to risk your entire life.

5. Tailgating. It’s never wise to drive too close to the car in front of you, and there’s
never a good reason for it. If you’re getting frustrated being stuck behind a slow
driver, take several long, deep breaths to calm yourself down.
Action Plan:

- You should always maintain a safe distance from other vehicles so you have time
to react to sudden changes.

6. Reckless Driving. Excessive lane changes, speeding well over the limit and
aggressive behaviors behind the wheel can prompt unthinkable wrecks.

Action Plan:
- It’s important to be conscious of your actions on the road and what’s going on
around you. If you’re upset, it may be helpful to wait to get on the road until
you’ve calmed down.

7. Raining while driving. This situation isn’t always avoidable, but it’s a good idea
to reduce the frequency of your driving during wet weather, whenever possible.

Action Plan:
- If visibility is too low or the roads seem especially slippery, it’s in your best
interest to pull over and wait to proceed until the storm passes.

8. Beating the red light or running traffic signals. It may cause a serious
accident by failing to stop at a red light or stop sign.

Action Plan:
- Be responsible drivers, always follow traffic rules and signs. Be sure to make a
full stop in every intersection to avoid accidents or collision to over speeding
vehicles at the intersection.

9. Vehicle Defects. Your vehicles go through rigorous testing before they’re placed
on the market, but sometimes defects can slip through the cracks.

Action Plan:
- If you’re aware of any recalls on your vehicle, be sure to take care of them right
away. Additionally, make sure you bring your car in for regular maintenance so
these issues are caught long before they cause any harm.

10. Wrong-Way Driving and improper Turns. No one is perfect, but it’s important
to avoid making mistakes on the road because the cost could be your life.

properly, or obey traffic signals. Constantly keep your eyes peeled for traffic signs
and respect the right-of-way when making turns.
