As a teenager, monetary freedom and success was one of my, if not the, main goal. Hailing
from a small village in southern part of India, my family knew nothing better than preparing
for JEE, to get into a prestigious IIT and build a dream future. So, I have got into the JEE
preparation, and have managed to complete that part of education with good sucesss, with
a seat in a prestigious IIT, and a Gold Medal in an Olympiad Representing India.
In my college studies, I have gained a broader understanding of the world. Even though
IIT is a great platform to gain exposure and for a plethora of opportunities, I have realised
that any amount of monetary freedom without being myself at work is not very desirable.
I want to be frequently challenged and tested, I want my competitive side to be always
engaged. I want to be in a field that is fast paced, goal and outcome oriented, rewarding for
excellence and in general, very exciting and awe-inspiring.
The Capital Associates Programme has struck every string in my box. A programme
where I could learn about public market investing with hands on resposibilities, a place
where I could challenge myself to think as an investor and demonstrate my excellence in
qualitative and quantitative work seems like I am a perfect suit for this role. I have already
explained about my passion for such an engaging field in previous paragraphs. I have a great
qualitative and quantitative skill set, that is suitable for excelling in this field, I have honed
and applied this skills via training for one of the toughest competitve exams in the world.
Even though I dont have any formal background in finance, I have a very engaging out-
look on the field, and I have spent some time thinking about investing and finance sector.
One of the things that I have always thought about and wanted to explore if I had time and
resources is that, in a country like India or any other developing countries, where
credit scores aren’t widely used or have been popular, there has been a huge
hurdle for loan seeking budding investor, in terms of how barringly costly, both
in terms of processing time and annual interest, the loan providence has been. I have
always thought about this problem. I would like to grow a better outlook in public market
investing and identify such deficiencies and work on their solutions under the guidance of
your esteemed firm.
Concludingly, I firmly believe I would be a good suit for this wonderful opportunity
provided by Capital Group, and I ensure I would make use of the opportunity to my complete
potenital, if given one.
