I am an international student born and raised in Nepal. Nepal is a landlocked country situated in South Asia. I came to the United States almost nine years ago to fulfill my dreams of studying abroad. I received my undergraduate degree in Accounting from Winona State University in Winona, MN in fall 2007. During my last semester, I did an audit internship in Internal Audit Services (IAS) at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. After completing my undergraduate degree, I got a job offer from Mayo Clinic and since then I have been employed as a Financial Operational Auditor. While working with this company I was able to learn different aspects of business and explore new horizons. Some of my duties included providing functional business consulting to fulfill customers extensive business related needs, providing business support in business areas such as ERP functionality and technology. Due to the nature of my work, I also gained the opportunity to travel to different client locations to provide and cater to their both short and long term business needs while also gaining different industry sector experience. Working as a business professional, I have realized the importance of a Graduate degree. I have always been intrigued by the finance field. After working for few years, I have understood that the amount of knowledge that can be gained is endless. Therefore, I would like to continue my education in the field of Finance and pursue an MBA. Getting this degree would help me immensely to better compete with the fast-paced business world. If I were given the opportunity to go to graduate school, I would reach closer to achieving my goals of moving back to my home country and applying my knowledge to develop the business sector of my country. Excellent project and time management, and strong communication skills are some of my strengths. I also excel working in a team environment which has always been commended and recognized very well by my superiors in various instances. My ability to get along with people

also makes me a likeable person in any kind of environment. However, I would like to develop greater strength and enhance my abilities in the field of finance. I am always hungry for more knowledge and I believe that more finance knowledge is going to take me further in my career. Therefore, to be able to compete with the world by dealing with more complex business related issues I would have to make myself stronger by obtaining more knowledge. I believe that obtaining a Masters Degree in Finance would help me to do so. While I was searching for graduate schools, my search ended when I came across Saint Marys University of Minnesota not just because it is one of the finest universities in the state of Minnesota but also due to the fact that Minnesota is one of my favorite states in the US. Minnesota has been a home away from home for me since I first came here seven years ago. Some of the biggest challenges to business in the 21st century are communication, diversity and technology. With globalization and advent of the Internet, world has become smaller. Nonetheless, communication still persists as a huge problem to businesses. If proper means of communication between employees and executives within the office branch and global branches are maintained effectively, many business objectives could be easily met. Diversity is another major challenge faced by businesses worldwide. Proper knowledge and inter cultural sharing are the remedies for diversity related issues in businesses.
