My Motivational letter

My passion for economic policy started from the keen interest I have always had in it since I
grew up in Nigeria, one of the developing countries in Africa. Some areas of management, which
entail economic planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, have always been my set
objectives. I was so strong and focused on this dream after receiving my first degree in
Geography Education from a great citadel of learning in Nigeria (Obafemi Awolowo University,
Ile-Ife) and working as a customer service representative in the communication industry for
several years. I have come to realize that attaining a managerial level in any public or private
organization in Nigeria requires not only sales skills but also the development of management
skills, which are needed to ensure effective management decisions and improve both the
employee’s and organization's capacities. One of my topmost aspirations is to attain a
management position in the future and be committed to developing my professional skills as an
economic policy driver, which involves the application of skills, knowledge, and techniques to
meet the objectives of a policy maker and stakeholder’s expectations.

To help me with my career goal of working in a policymaker role, I have already taken steps to
boost my economic policy skills through self-study.

I regularly read books on the subject of policymakers and also attended verifiable training,
courses, and workshops to help me in the field I am aspiring for. I am excited about the prospect
of returning to higher education and completing a master's degree to the best of my abilities. I
enjoyed completing my bachelor's degree in geography education, and the results obtained
demonstrated that I have the ability and drive necessary to succeed in my chosen field.
Furthermore, my experience gained through self-study demonstrated that I have a solid grasp of
the demands of economic policy, and through working in a senior-level role, I have begun to
develop many of the skills that are necessary for a policymaker's role.

After obtaining my first degree, I held a customer care position in a multinational

communication company (iSON BPO) while I rose from call center agents to serving as a team
leader, where my team and I were responsible for managing a range of construction projects
carried out with the ministry of lands, housing, and urban development, ranging from new
building projects to the installation of sewage systems and water piping. This role brings out
some of my skills in the use of computer graphic software such as AutoCAD, CorelDraw, etc.
Deviating a bit out of the geography field for this period shows my level of adaptability, where
all projects assigned were completely carried out successfully. I then proceeded to join a non-
governmental organization in Nigeria (the Refuge of Life Foundation), where I held the position
of senior program officer. In this role, I was responsible for carrying out community
interventions on high-risk populations while working in line with the objectives of the
organization to achieve her goals. In this role, I added some qualities such as the ability to learn
easily, having a good customer relationship, paying attention to details, and quickly offering
solutions to unforeseen challenges. I later proceeded to work for the World Health Organization
as a field volunteer (disease surveillance) by planning and implementing activities aimed at
maintaining very high population immunity against polio viruses through high-quality
supplemental immunization activities and routine immunization.
In spite of past successes in my career, however, I refused to be lulled into a sense of
complacency. I am eager to learn as much as possible about economic policy to excel in this
sector. A completed master's degree program would enhance and broaden my professional skill
set through work as a policymaker for a public and reputable organization, where I can
contribute positively to the development of such an organization.

I would like to state that having quality education in computer science and ample exposure in the
communication industry and non-profit organizations while working as senior personnel has
boosted my career and highly motivated me to pursue a master's degree in economic policy with
a strong focus on launching a successful managerial career at a global level.

It is essential for a policymaker to be equipped with the skills that are necessary to allow
developmental tasks to be completed on budget, on time, and according to the original
specifications, and I believe that completing this degree is the best way to acquire the required
skills.

In pursuing my dream and based on my research, I have found that PRIGO University offers a
conducive environment for learning. It will be a great advantage for me to obtain my master's
degree in an academic environment that is committed to building a vibrant and technically sound
community of students and faculty. I believe that PRIGO University, as one of the leading
institutions in the world, possesses seasoned faculty members who are not only interested in
transferring their knowledge but also show strong commitment and curiosity in expanding their
knowledge and sparking similar interests in their students.

Whilst I am aware of the large number of applicants, I am optimistic that my academic record,
professional experience, and strong enthusiasm and passion for this chosen field will make me
stand out and provide the impetus for me to excel in the course of my M.Sc. at PRIGO
University. I am ready to take advantage of every opportunity the M.Sc. in Economic Policy will
offer me towards an exciting academic career.
