Tools Required for Guitar Setup

Essential:

 Digital tuner (NB: make sure it measures in 'cents' - you'll tune within 3 cents -
semitone is 50 cents)

 Guitar lead (for electric guitars)

 Metal engineering ruler (mm measurements)

 Quality digital calipers

 4mm to 5mm allen keys (a full metric / imperial set is recommended)

 Full range of quality nut files

 Flat / cross screwdrivers (a range of different sizes)

 Sharp pencil (for non-electric guitars)

 80g abrasive paper (for non-electric guitars)

Useful:

 Small file set (containing a needle file)

 Quality peg / bridge pin remover (only a requirement if changing the strings
also, part of General Maintenance, covered in Module 1)

 String winder

 Capo

 Medium density superglue

 Scribe (for non-electric guitars)
