Different Movement of the Joints (Upper and Lower Limbs)

1. Flexion
 When your forearm moves toward your body by bending at your elbow,
and is also common at ball-and-socket joints like bending forward at the
hip.
2. Extension
 When your elbow when throwing a shot put. An example is straightening
the knee or elbow
3. Abduction
 raising the arm at the shoulder joint, moving it laterally away from the
body,
4. Adduction
 An example is raising the arm sideward then lowering the arms to the side
of the body. Closing arms to the chest or bringing knees together
5. Rotation
 Movement of the head from side to side. Rotation is a common movement
of the ball-and-socket joint. An example is shaking the head when
expressing “No”.
6. Circumduction
 At the shoulder joint during an overarm tennis serve or cricket bowl.
7. Pronation
 When you turning a screwdriver and turning a key. Another example is
supine lying.
8. Inversion
 The ankle also facilitates side-to-side movements of the foot
9. Eversion.
 the movement of the sole away from the median plane
10. Dorsiflexion
 When your ankle when you draw your toes back toward your shins.
11. Plantar flexion
 The movement toes to point downward and standing on your toes. The
movement that allows you to press the gas pedal of your car.
