Personal Statement

Lack of proper administration and management lead towards disastrous results and developing
countries like China have badly suffered from it. Poor management raises the business
inefficiency that not only impairs the organizational performance but hinders the overall
economic growth by raising the poverty and unemployment. Moreover, shortage of competent
managerial staff, bribery and inefficient resource allocation have further eroded the situation of
the developing world. However, the time has come when things need to change, and I want to
make a significant contribution to that transformation.

I am presently a Supply Chain Manager for State Power Materials Group, belonging to China
State Power Corporation. I have held this managerial position for last six years. The reason
behind choosing the MBA for further studies is that knowledge gained at MBA level helps the
individual to enhance business efficiency through efficient resource allocation. It enables the
managers to conduct an efficient case analysis through actual observation of facts and make
the decisions by relating the theoretical knowledge with the real world. I am enthusiastic to
learn from leaders of industry and explore innovative ways to conduct business. I am seeking to
enhance my strategic thinking and management style to become a successful and an efficient
manager.

During the course of my Bachler's diploma at Shanghai university of finance and economics, I
acquired knowledge about various dimensions of supply chain management. It enhanced my
comprehension of legal, economic and political influences upon purchasing and supply chain
functions of a firm. It also helped me to understand the purchasing environment by adopting a
holistic approach. I learned various negotiation tactics that are crucial for the effective
performance of a purchasing manager. I completed my Bachelors diploma while working as
supply chain manager. During my studies, I got an opportunity to relate the learned theoretical
knowledge with real work environment at my organization. I published a research report that
involved a comprehensive internal analysis of purchasing and supply chain practices at State
Powers Material Group and offered recommendations in light of related theoretical knowledge.
It resulted in a vivid enhancement in internal organizational processes.
My current role as supply chain manager has mainly involved building and maintaining
connections with new and current suppliers, developing purchasing channels and ensuring the
overall purchase quality management. I have been actively engaged in establishment and
optimization of procurement processes and have frequently handled emergency situations that
have enhanced my stress management skills. I have also got an opportunity on a regular basis
to enhance my interpersonal and team working skills by collecting the feedback and providing
guidance to my team for setting up the action plan. I am currently managing the team of eight
people responsible for developing and executing the action plans for different customers.

I am an enthusiastic individual with strong problem solving skills. My six years work experience
has significantly enhanced my negotiation skills. For example, once I had to deal with a tough
supplier who was well known for his rigid behavior. I convinced him to sign a 2-year contract
with 5 percent discount through efficient communication, convincing and presentation skills.

I am a flexible individual who easily adjusts to a different environment. It is one of the major
reasons for choosing the UK for higher studies. I want to study in a different culture to broaden
my mind and sharpen my ability to deal with diversified people. If I would be able to get an
offer letter from your side, I would utilize my every moment to enhance my personality so that I
could make a healthy contribution to the current business environment of my home country.
