WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH & WEL-BEING?

 Is a positive concept related to the social and emotional well-being of individuals and communities.
 Having a good mental health or being mentally healthy, it is more than just the absence of illness rather
it’s a state of overall wellbeing.
 It concludes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act.
 It helps determine how stress, related with the others, and making choices.
 Mental health is about the wellness rather than illness.
 All about what’s going on? Rather than what’s the problem?

The concept is influence by culture, but it generally relates to:


 The employment of life
 Having the ability to cope with and bounce back from stress and sadness.
 Being able to set and fulfil goals
 Having the capability to build and maintain relationship with others.

MENTAL HEATH AND HYGIENE


HEALTH is often used to refer a state of physical, mental, and social well-being of individual.
MENTAL HEALTH is broad concept of health concerned with an optimum level of emotional and behavioral
adjustment of the individual.
MENTAL HYGIENE refer to keeping oneself and once living and working areas neat and clean in order to
prevent illness and disease.

TO HAVE AN EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT MENTAL HEALTH, MUST FOLLOW THIS TIPS;
 REALITY CONTACT – it is good to have a realistic appraisal of one’s own reaction, emotion and
abilities. May avoid disappointments and frustrations.
 IMPULSIVE CONTROL – a healthy adjustment would have a good control over his/her behavior and
impulsive. Should be completed in control over your impulsive behaviors.
 SELF-ESTEEM – the evauate component of self. It could be positive or negative.
 POSITIVE THOUGHTS – mental health depends on whether we direct our thoughts in positive or
