Script for World Teacher’s Day

Buds: Good morning everyone and welcome to the greatest event the world over: The World Teachers
Day!
Cris: One and a half years into the COVID-19 crisis, never have teachers been more wanted and needed
than today.

Buds: And more than ever, a teacher does not merely stick to the role of a teacher. They adapt into
various roles as and when the need arises. They become our friends when we are sad, they care for us
like our parents when we are hurt. They guide us through the most difficult times.

Cris: Driven by this year’s theme, Gurong Filipino: Katuwang sa Hamon, Kasama sa Pagbangon, we,
teachers traverse all challenges and open the window of opportunities, Para sa Bata, Para sa Bayan!

Buds: Maam Cris, isn’t it wonderful that we celebrate this day with the teachers all over the world and
this event is something we always anticipate every year to give recognition to the sacred work teachers
are doing every year especially in this time of uncertainty.
Cris: yes, Sir and during the current crisis, we have witnessed how teachers have been at the heart of
educational responses: they have provided online and modular teaching and learning; they have
prepared take home packages for students living in rural and remote areas not to mention other beyond
duty tasks which they have accomplished.

Buds. Let us now commence our celebration by paying our salutation to the National Flag with the
Singing of the Philippine National Anthem. It will be followed by our collective adoration to the Almighty
by a prayer to be led by______________ and a tribute of respect to our Province with the singing of
Capiz Hymn. Our gesture of reverence and silence is highly desired.

Cris: With welcoming hearts, we shall listen to the inspirational message of the father of our schools’
division, the ever supportive and unwavering Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Salvador O. Ochavo,
Jr., CESO V
Buds: Thank Dr. Ochavo for that heart-warming message for the teachers! Let us now listen to the
Father of our province, the Honorable Governor Esteban Evan B. Contreras for his inspirational message.

Cris: Thank you Governor Contreras for your inspiring message!

Sir, Buds, before we proceed to the next presentation, can you think of popular quotes about
teachers?

Buds: Sure Maam Cris. I think I remember two popular quotations: One from Sidney Hook who said:
Everyone who remembers his/her own education remembers teachers, not methods and techniques.
The teacher is the heart of the educational system.
Cris: What is the other one?
Buds: The other one is from Scott Hayden and I love this!
Cris: That sounds interesting!
Buds: He said, “Teachers have three loves”
Cris: Three loves? Not one?
Buds: Yes. He said “Teachers have three loves: love of learning, love of learners, and the love of bringing
the first two loves together.”
Cris: I feel relieved that those three loves relate to what we do as lovers of learning and learners.
Let us now be doubly inspired by an intermission number that brings out the best in us, our love for our
learners through a song rendition by Ma. Liza A Bersabal of Commissioner Luis R. Asis National High
School.
Buds. That was a fantastic version. It is relatable to teachers as we become parents of learners in school.
Cris: I agree Sir Buds. The greatest possession of every teacher or parent is their learners.
Buds: Maam Cris, we now come to the exciting part of our celebration.
Cris: I agree Sir Buds and I’m sure we’ve got the best talents of our teachers from different parts of our
schools division ranging from mountain heights, urbanized plains to coastal roads.
Buds: We shall all witness a plethora of talents blended by words, music and beats. We shall see
teachers celebrating diversity and harmony in a kaleidoscope world.

Teachers Got Talent:

Prayer for Teachers:

The Patron Saint of all Christian Teachers, St John Baptist De La Salle said: “God has chosen you,
teachers, to do his work.” In this time of uncertainty, let this prayer empower us and bring us closer to
our work. The prayer is to be led by:______________

We pay great respect to our Keen and zestful OIC- of the Office of the Asst. Schools Division
Superintendent, Sir Jose Niro R. Nillasca for his Closing Remarks.

Thank you Sir Sir Jose Niro R. Nillasca for your touching words for our teachers.

Cris: That ends our special celebration for the World Teachers Day. Before we end, allow us to recite this
poem for all of you as a sign of our great respect to the work that you do and to the enduring inspiration
the world has ever known.

WORTH

With racing heart and uncertain gait,

Faces fondly familiar, I searched

Amidst a throng of strangers, wait

Bella? A voice so kind, so sweet

My name, surely she uttered.

As I turned around to see,

A most gentle smile ushered me;

Welcoming, enveloping warmth

Into a new home and hearth,

Of books, of paper, of pens.

Suddenly, my world from abc to xyz,

Unexpectedly, overwhelmingly expanded;

Language, science, mathematics, history

And instilling love of God and country;

With her, learning is fun and unimpeded.

For fast and slow, naughty and nice,

Her love overflows without a price;

When problems arise, she renders advice

For her students, she gives her all;

Unfazed, unrelenting despite some fall.

Her profession becomes more sublime,

Despite the difficulties of pandemic time

Warding off dangers and health threats,

She marches on, with modules in arms,

Traverses mountains, rivers, and brook;

Her students' future, the calling she took.

To honor her this October fifth,

On her feet, we lay praises and gratitude;

For nobody compares to her rectitude

The best of us she brings forth;

Indeed, she lives a life of worth.

Cris: Thank you everyone for the day spent with love and joy
Buds: We look forward to seeing you having a great day every day in each classroom and in each
beautiful journey!

Cris and Buddy! Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher. Happy
Teachers Day!
