People
 Don Juan – father of Lam-Ang who got to fight a group of Igorot.
 Namongan – mother of Lam-Ang.
 Lam-Ang – son of Don Juan and Namongan.
 Ines Kannoyan – a beautiful maiden, daughter of the richest man of the town of
Kalanutian, and a lady who loved and married by Lam-ang.
 Sumarang – enemy of Lam-Ang.
 Berkakan – a water monster fish.
 Marcos – diver who rewarded by Lam-Ang for collecting his bones.

Plot
Exposition
The Family of Lam-Ang is located in the place called Nalbuan where his parents
Don Juan and Namongan decided to reside and create a family. Her father is known to
have a conflict to the group called Igorot. Before Lam-Ang was born his father Don Juan
climb the mountain to punish his enemies Igorot.
Rising Action
Months have passed Don Juan, the father of Lam-Ang does not return and that is
why Lam-Ang decided to climb also the mountain and look for his father Don Juan. The
journey encountered by Lam-ang is never been easy for him and so he decided to rest
for a while to gain his energy. While he sleep he had a dream about his father’s head
being stuck on a pole made by the Igorot. Lam-Ang woke up and rushed himself to the
village of Igorot and killed them all except for the one whom he let go in order for him to
tell how strong Lam-Ang. After Lam-Ang conquered the village of Igorot, he returned
home and bathed in the river called Amburayan.
A woman named Ines Kannoyan wanted to marry by Lam-ANG, he used to court
Ines with his rooster crow and gray dog. Lam-Ang encountered the other suitor and his
enemy named Sumarang on his way to the house of Ines, Lam-Ang and Sumarang
fought but in the end Lam-Ang won his battle against Sumarang.
Climax
Lam-Ang found the house of Ines and he noticed that their house is surrounded
by many suitors. Lam-Ang had her rooster and dog which people bring all attention to
him, even Ines and her parents are amazed to Lam-Ang that is why Ines’ parents
agreed to marry their daughter Ines by Lam-Ang.

Falling Action
Their tradition for the newly married man is to swim in the river for the rarang fish,
at this moment Lam-ang accidentally dove into the mouth of the water monster
Berkakan.
Resolution/Denouement
Ines thought that Lam-Ang is eaten by the monster fish that is why he ordered
Marco to collect the bones of Lam-Ang on the river but they are wrong because Lam-
Ang back alive and they live happily ever after.

Purpose
Biag ni Lam-Ang give readers travel because the story contains different people
and places that makes every reader to continue reading the story. This literature also
triggers their imagination. It also portrays cultures and beliefs of people which are stated
and depicted in the story, more importantly the cultures of Ilocos region, the cultural
awareness brought by this literature would help the readers to have cultural sensitivity.
The determination made by the main character named Lam-Ang symbolizes the
dominant trait that Filipino have, just like Lam-Ang Filipinos also fought for different
battles in life, more importantly in terms of battle for family and love ones.
