1. What is the underlying meaning or significance of this story?

The story Romeo and Juliet which is written by William Shakespeare that has
a genre tragedy presents the story of the rivalry between Montague and
Capulet; the two opposing families are not in favor with the commitment of
Romeo Montagueand Juliet Capulet with each other. In this story the readers
will witness the sacrifice of the two main character in the story to save their
relationship with each other since their families are not in favor with them, in
this story also the readers will notice the immature love that Juliet and Romeo
posses that is why this story will mark a lesson to its readers especially
adolescents that they should listen to their parents for them to make good
decisions in their life.
2. What was the author’s purpose in writing the story?
According to Shakespeare He wanted couples to appreciate their love
together. People complain how they face problems that ruin their relationships
that force them to separate from each other. Shakespeare wrote Romeo and
Juliet to explain the worst possible lovers can find themselves in.
3. What did the author say to me through the story ?
The story taught its readers to respect the decision of their parents because
parents are always right, Romeo and Juliet are not supposed to die if they
know how to listen, if they know how to control their hearts and minds. This
story taught me that there is no wrong with commitments or relationships as
long as people used it as inspiration and not as destruction.
4. What are the comments the author makes about beliefs, fundamental truths,
human nature, life, society, human conditions, or value?
I think the concept that author wants to voice out in his literary piece is about
the values inside the family especially respect, sacrifices that is seen on the
characters and most importantly love.
5. What is the common idea that ties the story together?
I think the common idea that ties the story together is the sacrifices that
characters portray in the story not only Romeo and Juliet but the supporting
characters more importantly their parents.
