A Position Paper on War against Drug of President Rodrigo Duterte

Introduction
It has been two years since Duterte became president of the Philippines and
unleashed a brutal war on drugs which has been the main campaign of the government.
The said war is a good plan and a good way to resolve the problem of the country
regarding drugs. By cooperating on the campaign of the president to stop the drug
dealers in the country, we can prevent the drug abuse in the Philippines and the
president believe that by resolving the issue, it will have a domino effect to the other
problems of the country. This paper shows the boon and bane of the said campaign. I
agree to this campaign against illegal drugs because I believe it has been effective to
lessen the drug users and drug dealers in our country. It gives people the second
chance to have a renewed life so that everyone can contribute for the betterment of our

Killings or EJK. More than 12,000 due to this war had died. However, that does not

mean that Duterte’s program is bad. Police men have their arrest warrants and there
are no enough evidences to prove that the killings can be called EJK.

worry about the future because he know what crimes can do for the youth of the
country. He said that if it not stopped, crimes can make cesspools of succeeding

generations. The ‘human lives’ he is pertaining is the lives of the general public that
might be a victim of the criminals. When drug addicts will not have access to illegal
substances, they will not experience highs or hallucinations that will drive them to
commit crimes. He wanted to eradicate criminals before they can make crimes that
can affect others’ lives.

 It must not only be the government who must do something for the betterment
of our country but we must all include ourselves. We must participate and support
the campaign of the President. A drug free area or community may seem impossible
given the present situation, but it is achievable as long as everyone does their share
in the fight against drugs.
The president made it clear that his conviction cannot be swayed when it comes
to dealing with drug dealers and users. In fact, he said no amount of criticism will
change his direction and he intends to intensify the ongoing drug war.
Conclusion
Due to the war on illegal drugs, many drug users and pushers had surrendered
to the police that helped lessen the use of illegal drugs in our place. In achieving a drug
free country, the government strongly believe that everything will fall into place. The
issue on poverty, corruption, and crimes will also be resolved. Although many are

against it, the government must push through this but the policies and protocols must be

improved so as to resolve the issue regarding the Extrajudicial Killings, to lessen the
