 LET US HELP DECREASE THE WATER POLLUTION

As our planet Earth continuously develops,it will always face a massive problem when it comes to
pollution,and one of them is mainly our water systems.As stated by the NDRC(National Development
and Reform Commission) in 2018 many people dies and suffer from an unclean drinkable water rather
than dying in war and violence and mostly it can be found in the continent of Africa.but first and foremost
what is water pollution and how does it affects our lives?we clearly know that it occurs when chemical or
harmful substances contaminate all of the bodies of water producing toxic that can be dangerous to
humans or the environment.
According to the article of IOP Conference Series for Earth and Environmental Science,human
activities are the number one causes of this problem,as we lived in industrialization,most people and
companies dump their trash in watercourses believing that it was the most appropriate places to do so,
not thinking of the possibilites that these wastes will return again through drinking and irrigating their
crops. In that case we must take an action now to preserve both of our biosphere and hydrosphere.
There a lot of ways in order for us to lessen the water pollution,simply stop littering everywhere
especially in drainages,our town,Baliwag suffers from clogged canals every rainy season what more in
other crowded cities,clearly have a self discipline that only throw your garbage in the trash can or you
may reuse some of the those things again,secondly government should strictly ban the use of dynamite
fishing by having a marine guards patrolling around that area,farmers also should use organic fertilizers
instead of harmful pesticides, for example using “pyrethrins” which is extracted from the flower
daisies,known as one of the safest insecticides in vegetable gardening,although it can kill insects but it
was nontoxic to mammals.
Researchers,scientist and developers were creating a new possible way for us to reduce wastes in water
by using modern technology.Seabins and membrane technology is one of them,seabin is an innovative
cleaning technology by Pete Ceglinski that collects trash floating in rivers or sea,it also gathers data on
the state of our waterways that can guide to clean the larger part of our bodies of water.Seabins also raise
awareness to educate the people preventing water pollution.Another machinery that we can use is the
membrane technology,its process was to filter, remove and separate smaller particles from water,as
liquids passes through the membrane since the pressure differs between one side to another.Governments
should invest in these kinds of automation because not only we can clean our water systems,but it is also
for the health of the people who consumes it.

After finding a solution,here are the numerous ways of water cleansing for it to be consumable,first of all
coagulation and flocculation,its chemicals with a positive charge neutralizes the negative charge which is
the small particles found in water,secondly when the floc was at the bottom its settling process is called
sedimentation,thirdly filtration blocks the fine particles in order for the clear water to pass through,and for
the last one,disinfection,after it is filtered disinfectants such as chlorine or chloramine was added to die
down the remaining bacteria,protecting it from germs when it is being transferred to our homes and
establishments.
 In conclusion,now we know the causes and other strategies that we can do in taking care of our
environment,we still should not stop educating ourselves about what’s happening around us because the
future of our planet is in our hands.
