Remember :
(01) The number of integers from 1 to n which are divisble by k is [n/k] ([.] denotes greatest
integer) e.g the number of integers from 1 to 100 which are divisble by 2 and 3 individually
are [100/2]=50 and [100/3] =33 respectively.
(02) The number of natural numbers from 1 to n ,which are perfect kth powers,is [n1/k] e.g. the
number of perfect squares from 1 to 110 is [ 110 ] =10.
Examples:(i) How many natural numbers are there lying between 10 and 10000 such that all the
digits in the numbers are odd and distinct and the number is a multiple of 5.
(ii) In how many ways 5 distinct ways 5 distinct red balls and 5 identical white balls can be
arranged in a row so that neither any two red balls nor any two white balls come together.
CIRCULAR PERMUTATION
(01) Consider 23 different coloured beads in a necklace.In how many ways can the beads be
placed in the necklace so that 3 specific beads always remain together?

(02) In how many 10 boys and 5 girls can sit around table so that no two sit together.
(03) In how many ways can 8 students be seated in a (i) line (ii) circle.
(04) (i) In how many can 5 persons beseated around a circular table?
(ii) In how many of these arrangements will two particular persons be next to each other?
(05) If 20 persons were invited for a party,in how ways can they and the host be seated at a
circular table?In how many of these ways will two particular persons be seated on either
side of the host?

(01) From a class of 60 students.11 to be chosen for a cricket tournament .In how many ways can this be
done?
(02) How many different selections of 6 books can be made from 11 different books if
(i) Two particular books are always selected; (ii) Two particular books are never selected?
(03) There are two boys B1 and B2.B1 has n1 different toys and B2 has n2 different toys.Find
the number of ways in which B1 and B2 can excvhange their toys in such a way that after
exchanging they still have same number of toys but not the same set.

(04) Let 15 toys be distributed among 3 children subject to the condition that any child can take
