Layers - Purposes
• Combine two or more images into a single digital image
• Apply changes into just one layer, but not affect
everything else
• Different layer effects can be applied to one only but see
it within other layers
• Isolates any mistakes that may be done
• Allows for easier re-editing (if raw file is still available)
Layers – Other Features
• Layer mask – linked to a layer and hides part of the layer
from the picture
• Painted black – not visible
• Painted white - visible
