1.

Choose and define ONLY one (1) from the three (3) given terms, and state how it described
Jose Rizal's life and works:

- Nationalism

Nationalism is a belief and movement that the state and the nation should be in sync.
Nationalism as a movement seeks to advocate the interests of a single country, particularly with
the goal of winning and maintaining the country's sovereignty over its homeland. Nationalism
asserts that each nation should be able to govern itself without outside interference.

I chose nationalism because Jose Rizal’s life and works made me feel that he is fighting
for the purpose of helping us fellow Filipinos from being controlled by the enemy. In his whole
journey, even when he was a child, he would be so patriotic about the war to protect our rights
from the enemy. I was amazed at how he would lead and did everything just for us Filipinos who
are in dire need of help.

2. In your own opinion, what makes a certain nation successful?

Unity. I think that unity itself is what a nation needs to move ahead of others because
with people helping and caring for each other, we can focus on moving forward even more
because we have people who supports and helps us.

3. After stating your ideals of a successful nation, do you think the Philippines is currently
considered one?

No, because as we are now, we are far behind from other countries and so does having
unity because people have different point of view in their life and in our world today, some
people just do whatever they want just because they think that that is the right thing to do.
Without unity, I think that Philippines will just get destroyed by us Filipinos because of our own
ideals and decisions.
