Abstract
The purpose of this study was to observe the adsorption of curcumin solution
(adsorbent) using 0.1 cm zeolite (adsorbate) and its effect on light intensity. The
method used is to look at references from several research papers that have been
done previously. This experimental process was carried out by adding zeolite with
varying masses into the curcumin solution and then measuring the light intensity
using a luxmeter. The result of this experimental test is that the dye in the
curcumin solution is absorbed by the zeolite. This is because zeolite has large
pores, so that the dye from the curcumin solution can be absorbed and affect the
value of light intensity. This experiment is expected to increase students’
understanding and skills in conducting simple research activities.
