INTRODUCING SOUNSCAPES FOR CONTROLLING OF NOISE POLLUTION IN THE CITY , LUDHIANA

AIM

The aim of the thesis to view sounds as potential resources in urban planning in the design of outdoor
environments. Planning could be developed to conscious acoustic design andactive sound managemnet.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Monitoring noise pollution levels in Ludhiana city and imapacts.

2. Introducing suitable proposals and recommendations to reduce noise levels in the city.

SCOPE:

1. Identifying the noisest area in the city

2. Identifying the socio-economic and health impact of noise.
3. Design urban sound scapes for selected residentials in the city.
4. Finding the relationships betweeen sound planning and urban planning.

LIMITATIONS:

1. Data collection for the noise level during the festivals are collected from the secondary sources.
2. Noise level can vary due to the changing of weather . people may go to parks and public spaces
according to their convinienece.
