The diagram shows two discs that are fixed with their centres 18 cm apart and
connected by a drive belt. The radii of the discs are 5 cm and 8 cm. Find the
length of the drive belt. [7]
(b) A new car is valued at £15 000. Use the model to predict the value of
this car when it is two years old. Give one reason why this value should
only be considered as approximate. [2]

The diagram shows a circle inscribed inside a square of side length 10 cm.
A quarter circle, of radius 10 cm, is drawn with the vertex of the square as
centre.
11.
The diagram shows three touching circles with radii 6 cm, 4 cm and 2 cm.
12. The diagram shows a sector 𝑂𝐴𝐵 of a circle with centre 𝑂 and radius 𝑟. Angle
𝐴𝑂𝐵 is 𝜃 radians. The point 𝐶 on 𝑂𝐴 is such that 𝐵𝐶 is perpendicular to 𝑂𝐴.
The point 𝐷 is on 𝐵𝐶 and the circular are 𝐴𝐷 has centre 𝐶.
(ii) Find the perimeter of the shaded region 𝐴𝐵𝐷 when 𝜃 = 𝜋 and 𝑟 = 4,
giving your answer as an exact value. [4]
