Q1: A /Define five of the following: (5 Marks)
Pollution, DO, OSHA incidence rate, Mist, Chemical Hazards.
B/ What is fire triangle? Give an three examples. (5 Marks)

C/ what is the settling tank? Calculate the retention time of the settling tank if the tank volume
is 90 m3 and the flow rate is 3m3/min. (5 Marks)
Q2: A/ If we fill a 600 ml cylinder with a polluted water, then its closed and kept at dry and
dark place at 18◦C
1- What may occur to the water after some days? (Sketch to show your answer).
2- Find the dissolved oxygen at the five day.
3- Calculate the amount of the oxygen used after 1 month.

Given the following: L◦=40 mg/liter, k1=0.55 day-1 and Saturation concentration of oxygen in
water is 9.5mg/liter (7 Marks)

B/ In 12 months the following accident are occurred in the chemical plant with 600 workers
averaging 8 hr daily.

3- The Municipal wastewater contains high concentrations of organic carbon only.
4-The disabling injury cannot be eliminated in any branch of industry.
5- The essential elements for combustion are fuel, and an ignition source.
