the racket. In backhand grip, you have to position your
thumb forward while in forehand grip, you have to position
your index finger forward

Stance (Attacking, Defensive, Net) – Attacking stance is

used to get into position before playing an overhead
forehand stroke. In defensive stance, you need to face your
body to the net and place your racket in front at waist-
height, slightly pointing forward. In net stance, place your
foot on the racket side forward while keeping a non-racket
foot at the back.

remember the base or the starting point. Two, you have to
move only 2-3 steps forward. Next, shuffle only 1 step
sideward and lastly, move only 2-3 steps front.

corner of the opponent’s court. A good high serve results in
the shuttle dropping steeply downwards at the back end of
the court. Low serve aims to the front of the court. Its
objective is to let the shuttle fly just above the net
landing in the front corner of the court.

an overhead smash which is similar to the action of throwing
a ball. You should not have a problem playing this stroke if
you can a ball well. Backhand smash is one of the toughest
strokes in badminton. To execute this, getting a backhand
grip and returning back to stance is very important. Last is
the jumping smash which is a forehand smash with a timed
jump added. It is the most glamorous skill in badminton.

Dropshot – it is the most technical skill in badminton.

Dropshot creates spaces in the midcourt and backcourt for
you to exploit. It has two types which are slow and fast
drop.
