EDUC 222 | The Teacher and the Community, School Culture, and Organizational Leadership
Explain the diagram below. (10 points)

The diagram shows a direct relationship between the school and the community. The
partnership between the two parties shows that there are ways in which the school can help the
community and that the community could also give back. Both the school and the community
fulfill a collective responsibility to one another; as teaches develops literacy, the community
should help build better school-atmospheres.

Through the members of the community, the child learns different concepts and the same time
acquires specs of principles from people s/he encounters.

ways by which a school helps a community.

Natural Resources Office, Fire Department, Local DRRM Office, Municipal PNP
Office, etc., have the power to visit schools and conduct information drives where
they disseminate important information about their respective area of expertise
c. Medical assistance
The government also gives free medical assistance to students like vaccines
d. Book supply

community

The school produces graduates that will be useful in the development of the
community
2. Increases local tourism
Colleges like Southern Christian College build income-generating infrastructures
like resorts, the SCC Nature Farm, which attracts tourists from neighboring
municipalities. A school alone could stand as a tourism sport if it has a famous
structure like the Gabaldon Building in Midsayap Pilot Elementary School; or for
being the first of its kinds, like the Notre Dame of Midsayap College, the first
Notre Dame school in Asia.

Schools can help in lowering crime rates because schools keep children busy from
doing unlawful things plus, they get educated about what actions in the
community are punishable

activities such as reach-out programs which helps the community.
7. Children’s training ground
The school also trains children in different aspects. Students will have the chance
to mold their leadership skills though student government organizations and will
get involve in journalism through the student publication.

The school balances academic and sports intellect of the students. An annual
sporting event, the intramurals, help spark the students’ passion in sports and
ignite the spirit of sportsmanship
