First, I will discuss what a carbon cycle is. Then, I will also be defined what is carbon. And lastly, I will discuss the main topic, the process of the carbon cycle.
So, what is a carbon cycle?
The carbon cycle is one of the biogeochemical cycles in which it describes the process of continuous travel of carbon atoms from the atmosphere to the Earth and then went back to the atmosphere. Since our planet and its atmosphere form a closed environment, the amount of carbon in this system does not change. Where the carbon is located — in the atmosphere or on Earth — is constantly in flux. So, let us now defined what carbon is. • Carbon is the foundation of all life on Earth that is required to form complex molecules like proteins and DNA. • Carbon helps to regulate the Earth’s temperature, makes all life possible, is a key ingredient in the food that sustains us, and provides a major source of energy to fuel our global economy. The shown picture on the screen is the carbon cycle diagram. In which carbon atoms were recycled that continually travel from the atmosphere to the Earth and then back into the atmosphere. What happens in the carbon cycle? We all know that carbon atoms are the foundation of all life on Earth. Mostly, carbon is called the chemical building block of life since we and other living creatures are made up of carbon. In the carbon cycle, the carbon was recycled in a different location. It includes ATMOSPHERE, TERRESTRIAL BIOSPHERE or the land, the EARTH’S INTERIOR, the OCEAN, and HUMAN. The carbon cycle starts from the animal, human, or in factories producing carbon dioxide that goes to the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide that goes to the atmosphere was then for photosynthesis by plants and planktons. Through the process of photosynthesis, the carbon dioxide released will pull out from the atmosphere by plants as food for plant growth. Carbon also moves from plants to animals through food chains, the carbon that is in plants moves to the animals that eat them. Animals that eat other animals get the carbon from their food too. Carbons move from the earth’s interior when the plants and animals die where the bodies decomposed bringing the carbon through into the ground. Additionally, carbons move from living things to the atmosphere. It happens when we exhale or releasing carbon through farting in the form of Carbon dioxide. Animals and plants need to get rid of carbon dioxide gas through a process called respiration. Carbon moves from fossil fuels to the atmosphere when fuels are burned. When humans burn fossil fuels to power factories, power plants, cars, and trucks, most of the carbon quickly enters the atmosphere as carbon dioxide gas. Carbon moves from the atmosphere to the oceans and other bodies of water where it is absorbed from the atmosphere that reacts with water forming carbonic acid.
