Once upon a time there was a man who married, for his second wife. The woman has two daughters from a
previous marriage and the man has a beautiful daughter from a previous marriage too, and his daughter name is
Cinderella. No sooner were the ceremonies of the wedding over, but the mother-in-law began show herself in
her true color. She couldn’t bear the good qualities of this pretty girl and the less because they made her own
daughters appear the more odious. The mother in law employed her in the meanest work of the house. In
contrast to her, Cinderella’s two half-sisters are needed very well by their mother.
Cinderella bore all patiently, and dared not tell her father, who would have rattled her off; for his wife governed
him entirely. It happened that King’s Son gave a ball, and invited all persons of fashion to it. Cinderella’s two
stepsisters were very enthusiastic. They talked about what clothes they would wear at the ball and this was a
new trouble to Cinderella because she was the one who has to do all the work todress them up. Cinderella could
only cry because she couldn’t go to the ball.
Then the fairy godmother appeared who helped him, he asked Cinderella to bring mice and pumpkins and then
changed them with her magic. Pumpkins turned into chariots, mice turned into horses, and one became a
coachman. Finally he changed Cinderella’s dress and gave her a glass shoes. Cinderella was so beautiful that
everyone at the ball looked at her.
Prince invites Cinderella to dance, he always stares and beside her. Cinderella looked very beautiful, kind and
polite. Prince was interested in her. The next day, Cinderella came to the ball again, she dressed more
magnificently than before. The King’s Son was always by her, and never ceases the kind speeches to her; to
whom all this was so far from being tiresome that she quite forgot what her godmother had recommended to
her, she then rose up and fled, as nimble as a deer. She left behind one of her glass slippers, which the Prince
took up more carefully.
Prince who felt attracted to Cinderella tried to find the girl. He sent a messenger to find the girl who owned the
glass slipper, he caused it to be proclaimed that he would marry her whose foot the slipper would just fit. The
girls tried to force their feet to fit in the shoes but nothing could. Arriving at Cinderella’s house, her two
stepsisters were also unsuccessful. Then Cinderella volunteered to try on the shoes and it worked, she also took
out another shoe and put it on. The fairy godmother came and bewitched her and her clothes changed. So
Cinderella was brought to the palace and married the prince.
