1 At a dog show there were 35 Alsatians. The number of pugs was 18 less . How many pugs
were there at the show ?

No of Alsatians there were = 35

Less number of pugs there were = 18
Total number of pugs = 35-18 =17

Therefore, There were 17 pugs at the show .

2) Lisa's grandfather is 61 years old . Her aunt is 28 years younger than him. How old is her
aunt ?
Years of age lisha's grand father is 61
Years of age younger her aunt than him is 28
Age of her aunt is 61-28= 33

Therefore, Lisa's aunt is 33 years old .

3) Mr Barua ordered 925 cups of ice cream for his party .At the end of the party, 189 cups were
left. How many cups of ice cream did the guest have ?

Total no of ice Cream they had = 925-189=736

Therefore, the guests had 736 cups of ice Cream at Mr Barua's party .
4) A poultry farm sold 5392 eggs in a week. It sold 1587 less eggs in the next week .How many
eggs did it sell the second week ?
No. of eggs sold by the poultry farm in the first week =5392
Less no of eggs sold in the next week=1587
Total no of eggs it sold in next week=5392-1587= 3805

Therefore, The poultry farm sold 3805 eggs in the next week .

5(a) Super express has 624 seats. 128 seats are in Ac coaches . How many seats are there in
Non AC coaches ?

Total number of seats Super express has 624

No of AC coaches are there 128
Total number of Non AC coaches= 624-128=496

Therefore, There are 496 non AC coaches .

(B) If 286 students join a school , the school will have 1500 students . How many students does
the school have now ?
No of students will join the school 286
Total no of students the school will have 1500
No of students the school has now =1500-286=1214

Therefore, The school has 1214 students now .

C) There were 8725 people watching a match in a stadium . During a break, only 2658 people
remained in the stadium .How many people went out ?

Total number of people were watching a match =8725

No of people remained in the stadium ,2658
Total number of people went out= 8725-2658=6067

Therefore, During the break, 6067 people left the stadium .
